Don't think any sensible fan is accusing the board of being tight. Virtually everyone has gone out of their way to say how excited they are by our earlier signings. But there is little point buying all these excellent midfielders if we have no end product. You know as well as I do that as things stand we will be limping towards January desperate - yet again - to buy a striker. We have been linked to half the midfield players in the country and we are apparently happy to spend another 6/8m on Sandro - a fantastic acquisition, not knocking it - but surely a striker is the greater need.Originally posted by West Acton View PostRangers fans we have never had it so good let's show a little bit of appreciation
We may still get a striker in if we don't we just have to do the best we can with the hand we have it's life

They should have been prepared. Its was obvious hed be off at the first sniff of a "Bigger" club coming in. To go into one of the biggest seasons in the clubs history with only 3 recognised strikers AGAIN is suicide. They need to pull a rabbit out of the hat sharpish. Im sure there will be some ******** coming out tomorrow about how they tried blah blah. Unfortunatly trying doesn't cut the mustard and i will be incredibly dissapointed if no goal scorer comes in tonight although its looking increasingly unlikelyOriginally posted by Busheyboy View Postlosing Remy a day before the end of the window was a real blow and we've had little time to react
Harry thought he'd stay

IF only there was a way to avoid being fleeced for huge wages in the last seconds of the transfer window, and not leaving ourselves short of of strikersOriginally posted by w12dave View PostLook at the end of the day do we really want to keep making the same mistake paying over the odds on wage's? We still having trouble getting rid off the like of SWP. I see it a good day for qpr, harry need to make the most of what he's got and make a statements for the next three month and hopefully in January we can get better players than what we been linked with so far.

But it's £200k a week as we are stuck with SWP and Taarabt,Originally posted by surrey_hoop View PostI'm not saying there is a bottomless pot of money - I'm saying we should've gauged an idea as to what Borini's demands might be before putting in a bid...that way, you can look elsewhere with time to spare. As it is, we've shafted ourselves by taking this stance. We'll happily give Adel Taarabt and SWP a combined total of 110k a week, but scoff at Borini on 90k. It isn't about acting Charlie big spuds, it's about common sense, and taking a calculated risk.
If we had offloaded them then it's not so bad.
£20k a week in profit.

3 strikers, of which one is injury prone, on of which is old and injury prone, and the other well, we're unsure if he is a striker, and is untested in the Prem.Originally posted by Greg1882 View PostThey should have been prepared. The amount of money we've spent this summer, it would be very poor if this was our striker options till January. Especially as Harry's plan was to play with two strikers.

All down to Redknapp's obsession with midfielders and leaving a striker to the last minute so we get raped on wages as they know we are desperate.Originally posted by Greg1882 View PostThey should have been prepared. Personally, I would've preferred us to have got our **** together weeks ago, rather than leaving it until the last minute. We dragged our heels with Sightorsson (who would've been asking for a lot less than 90k a week) and boned that one off because of wages demands....yet we're happy to keep paying the deadwood.Originally posted by stan_bowles View PostBut it's £200k a week as we are stuck with SWP and Taarabt,
