  • SWP told to Foxtrot Oscar by Harry

Harry Redknapp begins transfer deadline day determined to make a number of signings – and tells Shaun Wright-Phillips to find a new club.

No doubt he'll refuse to go and collect his wedge in the stiffs........

This bit of that article was good news...

"Traore has told the club’s board he wants to stay. But he faces falling behind Yun Suk-Young in the pecking order, with the South Korean in line for a run in the first team after the international break. Yun is recovering from a slight injury."

Looking forward to seeing Yun playing for us again, lots of potential

we can tell him to go but unless we are prepared to write off most of his wages no one is going to take him.

That could be worth doing just to get rid of him. It can't be good for squad morale to see a player getting paid £60Kpw to do sweet f.a.

Alternatively, how good is it for staff morale to see a player who did very little in his time at the club, being paid off to go?

If we can get rid of SWP, it's been a good day.

wd presumably have to pay a lot of it upfront. dont see why we should pay him off then let him trot off to a championship club and pick up another 15k a week.

I never wanted him here in the first place and said so.

Plenty begged to differ at the time. Be careful who you wish for ;)

Let him rot and have to train and wait each week for his money. Not worth our while paying him off so he can collect wages elsewhere. He should want to stay or go to have some sort of career left but he's another waster obviously

He will ultimately suffer for his decision to just ride out the contract. At the end of it he will probably need to retire coz no-one will want him.
If he was clever, he would put in some hard work, impress as a sub, and hope someone like Fulham or Wolves come in and offers a 3 or 4 year deal based on past reputation, and he can do it all over again. It's basically what he did to us, so why not do it again?
Then again, he has other outside interests, so I guess he's not that bothered.
