Is the situation really that bad.
    Goalkeepers: Green, Murphy, McCarthy
    Right back: Isla, Onuoha
CBacks: Ferdinand, Caulker, Onuoha, Dunne, Hill, Ehmer
    Left back: Yun, Traore, Hill
Cmidfield: Barton, Fer, Henry, Mutch, Diarra
    Wings: Hoilett, Phillips, Taarabt, Vargas
    Strikers: Austin, Zamora, Vargas

    That 24 players

Except you have Hill in there twice. And Vargas.

Edit; although you havent counted them.

It may look better that way but it doesn't really work. As soon as one of those players gets injured, you lose them from both positions that you have listed them in. I think we really do need more depth. Especially up front.

No one to replace Remy + an injury to Charlie and we're bang on for the lowest ever 'goals for' tally in Premiership history!
2011-2013, 2 seasons in the Premiership, 76 games, 14 wins........two years of my life I'll never get back!!

2013/2014 mediocrity topped off with a win at Wembley....

2014/2015 was pretty much the same as 2011-2013.....

        2015/2016, average at best.....

        2016/2017, same old, same old....

        2017/2018, aim low, avoid disappointment!

Its the hope that kills you!

we have to reckon on a point a game over the season and a goal a game over the season to be safe - we have loads of players who rarely score - this is a big worry

it also seems there's going to be 1 or 2 leaving today, which makes us even shorter of number than we already are.

            We'd be ok in a 5 a side comp!

I would say yes, based on Redknapp's comments after the Sunderland match especially given that Remy and Yun were on extended leave due to playing at the World Cup.

I specifically said that most of the squad is good. But the weakness as it stands is all about goals. If Austin stays fit he should get 10 goals. Bobby might get three or so off the bench. Vargas is a talented player but not a prolific out and out striker.

Agree that our striker situation is a weakness but IMO the whole left side is our big weakness.... from LB to LWB to LW we've no real cover. Although Hill had good game against Sunderland he cant be relied upon against certain teams. Traore I simply don't trust him in defence and Yun still unproven.

I can just see us getting mullered down that side.

It is a weakness for sure. Maybe Vargas can play down there? If not Hoillet will have to step up.

I'm not sure about Vergas, I don't really know a lot about him to be honest. Suppose if Hoilett can syep up and play like he fid against Sunderland that would help

I know Ned is better in the middle but he can play right back

Main concern is we won't score enough goals with the current squad. We have to win 9 or 10 games min to stay up

I am with you all here, we need a striker since we lost Remy, as it stands we can only play systems with 1 up front.
4-2-3-1 it is with Green - Isla, ferdinand, Caulker, Yun/Hill - Barton, Fer - Phillips, Mutch, Hoilett/Vargas - Austin

We desperately need one more up top. The only true out and out striker we have who can do 90m is Charlie. Even if you only play with one striker it wont see us through, and Charlie isn't a great one up player by default.

It wont be enough. Keeping BZ was imo a mistake because on paper you have another forward.....

Think we need to have the option of playing two up front. Plus Austin only managed 30 odd games last season. He also needs competition and dare i say it sometimes to be benched. We got out of jail with him as our only striker last season. won't get away with it a second time.
