This is spot on. Midfield were great today, maybe the more solid defence allowed them the licence to press without fear of exposing the shambles that was the back three in the previous games.

I think what is interesting is that Stoke went to Citeh and never looked like being turned over. They went with the right attitude and took 3 points. We didn't have that at Spurs. We must never again go anywhere in the prem and not get properly stuck in. I'm still not sure Harry is the greatest motivator - Spurs was an embarrassment. Today was a vast improvement, but we have to be up for it against the big boys.

the mood on here goes up and down faster than a tarts drawers.....there needs to be a consistent middle ground somewhere, but maybe that's asking a bit much!!!! Still don't get why the whiners don't come on here after a win?

Ok it's a bit of an overreaction but since there was an overreaction after 2 games, people saying Harry has dementia, old dinosaur, over rated etc. Mutch and Fer are rubbish after cpl games. So thought I swing it the other way.
Good post voyager, it is amazing what one win can do! I must admit I was pretty despondent after the last two matches but the way we applied ourselves today and got players forward made me feel warm all over!

I'm delighted to see this thread was done in a tongue in cheek manner so well done to the OP
This is where the large divide appears between the doom mongers and those they like to call the happy clappers (aka positive supporters). Everytime we get beaten the doom is tangible and the ability of management/players is picked to pieces and everyone is destroyed whereas we win and yes, it's a great feeling but we don't post about how we just became world beaters that will win the next Champions league final. Level headed and sensible versus the absolute delight of tearing our Club to ribbons - I know which I prefer.
So, great performance and well done to everyone.
The was a thread titled a few home truths the other day - well here's a few and I don't need to name names to makes the point(s)
Robert Green was flawless again yesterday despite the assertions of many that he is not good enough. Just like our PO final win, without him we would have got nothing. I'm delighted we got McCarthy because he is going to be a great addition but you cannot fault our number 1.
Hoilett had his best ever game for us yesterday and was effective throughout rather than being gash. The same is true of Matty P - well done.
Jordan Mutch is going to be a great signing, he was dynamic in this game and showed what he will bring, despite him being the latest to be destroyed as awful by the usual experts.
Leroy Fer - what a unit and what a performance. I just refreshed my memory on what so many said after Spurs: #ohdear.
Barton, again, had one of, if not his best game for us but I'm sure I read the same line every week that he does not have the ability to perform in the PL
The defending at times was like the Alamo, with bodies being thrown around and into the way of the ball (so very different to watching AT duck out of that free kick against Wigan last time around) and that is what "the right sort" is all about so next time you take the rise out of that description, have a think which you would prefer to watch playing for the Club we all supposedly love.
Evidence a plenty in that performance to see what is being developed and it doesn't happen over night so, the next time we get beat (because it will happen plenty this season) rather than rush home to tell us all how awful "it" all is, try and be a bit humble and watch the way the team comes together for more than one bang average performance before making us all feel like we need to go and sit in the middle lane of the M1

Thanks for the compliments on my post. I can get it right everynow and then!!!! I saw Harry interview on match of the day and funny enough he said something similar. He told the team to win and everything will feel different in the evening which it does.

Went on that the other week Dave. Funny old thing.

Really, really good performance from the lads yesterday. Absolute effort, commitment and desire. Don't think any fan could complain really. Hardly surprising that the atmosphere is better when they give us something to be proud of.

Regarding Hoillett, it does make you wonder what on earth he has been up to since he arrived when all along he can actually beat people and play football. Seems to have stopped using defender's legs as a target.
