Looool. So true. Saga done. Let's move on. Bigger things to focus our energy on,like supporting our team.

Rather than energy wasted on hate, which usually makes opposing players play better, let's focus on positive mindset for the team. With more recruits coming in, we definately have a chance of staying up. We CAN do it. We R Together.

          • Don't see the problem.
It's not as if we enticed him with offer of champions league football and medals galore.
He was a panic purchase to keep us up as with Samba and everything in the deal to get him said "stepping stone" from the buy out clause to being loaned to a prem team when we went down, I think Harry at the time of the transfer said we were a "stepping stone" for him into English league, can't blame him for now using us as such.
As to going to our annoying neighbours, that isn't his fault. Liverpool deal fell through for no fault of his, Gooners lost interest very quickly and spurs were sniffing about. Only big teams not interested appear to have been the Manchester giants and reasons are self explanatory.
Therefore can't fault Remy if he goes to only champions league club that comes in for him.
As to his loyalty, save for the contract being stacked against us to keep him, he was one of the few players that was actually good in our relegation season. Was happy to go on loan when we were championship thus probably assisting with our wage bill. Then returns and plays for us this season, admittedly not very good but his head was obviously elsewhere, from all accounts wanted to play Saturday but was to told not to.
He appears to have gone for £2m more than the buyout clause, probably the only player in a generation we have made a profit on despite his buyout clause.
He was a remnant from an era where long contracts and stupidly high wages were the vogue and unlike others he for one wasn't happy to just drain our club of wages, moan that we were rubbish and become someone impossible to shift.
For the above, I don't see a problem and it's better he goes to someone like Chelsea than say a Newcastle type team as he could make a mediocre team good which for personal reasons isn't something our club wants.

            • I doubt we can buy a striker tonight that can adequately replace Remy, but we really need to buy at least one striker now. If we don't sign a new striker, we would simply be waiting for disaster.

                • This has really saddened me that we sold him to the scum , but maybe its all about the money and not the football with him? only going to be a bench warmer while Costas fit

                  • I always had the attitude that it doesn't really bother me and 'good luck to him' but I've just seen the picture of him holding the chelski top and I'd be lying if I said it didn't hurt....
                    SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

                    • It's been said a few times now that for the money we got for him you couldn't buy anything close to Remy talent-wise, and that is undoubtedly true.
When you look at the complete package however I think his value to us as a club is not as high as would first appear.
When he first came to us he performed well, but that was because he was committed to showing all how good he was with a view to jumping ship whether we survived or not. Can't blame him for that I suppose but he was never going to be content being a QPR legend, his focus was always elsewhere so I'm glad we can put the Remy era behind us and carry on with players who want to be here and hopefully put their all into achieving something for our small club.

Now for Adel, another that thinks he is bigger than the club

I agree with all the above. QPR was always going to be a stepping stone for him and until the club grows (if it ever does) that will always be the case.

If QPR did get £10.5m for him then that is a £2M bonus on what we thought he would go for.

My only gripe is that it is on the eve of the window closing and doesn’t leave much time for a decent replacement.

                          • Don't forget we got 2 million from Newcastle. Contrary to what some people said on here, they also paid his wages. If we got 10.5 m. plus 2 m. that's not a bad return on the 8 m we supposedly paid.

Do we suddenly forget about the local derby rivalry then? Bizarre?!

Not at all, he is in his peak years and wants to play CL football, like he did at OM. He'll get games for Chelsea and will do well.

Remy grew up idolising Henry and supporting Arsenal, I can guarantee you he would have gone there had they tried to sign him, but sadly Chelsea were the only side who followed up their interest. No hard feelings towards the best striker we've had for years, he made us a profit, scored a couple crackers and didn't push for a move even when we were in the ****.
