Not all bad, but I can't see those outfield players scoring 15-20 between them to make up for the goals Remy would probably have scored.

As I said in another post, we've got another £10m or so to spend after selling Remy and Simpson, and hopefully we can find a striker who's just as good. I'm sure there's some good bargains out there, and I'd be surprised if HR hasn't lined one up.

I think it's jumping to conclusions to assume that Remy would've scored 15-20 goals for us this season. Yes, his goals to game ratio was very good in the PL for us and Newcastle, but you could tell even in the Hull game that his heart wasn't really in it....and if our last foray in the PL should've told us anything, it's that we need 11 good players who are willing to die for the club if we are to stay up. He must know that he will now spend the forsseable future sitting on Chelsea's bench rather than actually playing football, but if that is a price he is willing to pay in order to be on the books at a CL club, then good luck to him. Once Austin hits a run of form, we'll be fine without him anyway.

Why does he think he'll be playing in front of the scum fans? He's been signed as third choice striker for a team that plays one up front. Has he not seen what happens to the careers of so many players who sign for Chelski and City?

As I say, if that's what he wants good luck to him. He could've been a fans favourite at this club if he wanted, but he has chosen to instead sit on the bench at our rivals.

nice to see a bit of positivity chaps. not saying a swallow makes a summer but it will take time to get to grips with this team. having the right mentality to compete at this level is something we missed in the recent past and tf,harry etc should be applauded for the efforts to get that sorted-we'll need everyone on board to do it but it can be done. fair play to rangers fans yesterday-got right behind the team.

Its a shame that big "star" players move on as quick as possible rather than stay and help build a club up to compete in the future.

I cannot stand Shearer but you have to admire his loyalty to stay at Newcastle to do exactly that.
