Is interesting, as Harry said he would have quit if Bobby hadn't scored. If we get relegated, I hope there is a release clause in there.

I think you'll find a long list of wealthy ex-Chelsea managers will disagree. Di Matteo still getting paid as well IIRC.

Good move by the club, will finally stop rumours, which don't help after a poor start.

The overreaction is embarrassing! A bit of luck and we would have beat Hull 3 or 4 and Sunday we got taught a valuable lesson, which will wake everyone up at the club who were thinking we were safe before we kicked a ball.

We won't be the last side to concede four at the Lane this season. We were dreadful all over the park, it's going to happen from time to time but I'd rather it happen early on and act as a wake up call. Sunderland could be in for a tough afternoon on Saturday.
Good post - let's all keep our hair on. Probably done us a favour getting a hiding. Reality check, Hard work followed by hard work, more hard work combined with desire, application hunger, drive and determination.

If we turn with those qualities EVERY GAME, we might be ok.

Too many people thought a few decent signings on paper meant we'd be ok - takes more than that.

We did the same mistakes of two three years ago. We bought good names and drafted them in straight away. That's the responsibility of the manager. FIVE new players drafted in! And Harry got it wrong. Most disappointing were the new signings! Why drop Simpson and Faurlin when both did well against Hull? Why leave Hoilett out when he was doing so well in pre-season. New players takes time to settle in and to 'GEL' with new systems and players. An example is our opponent Lamela, who destroyed us single handedly, however last season did nothing good. Have we not gone through this experience before?

                Simpson was useless against hull.

Don't worry about Saturday what happens happens , with new players in key positions we wont see the team running at it's potential until after the international break .
But I have to add I'm finding the Harry knockers absolutely hilarious

Not sure I particularly want to see him given a new contract. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that now is the time to sack him either. Surely after such a dodgy start to the season the right move would be to leave things as they are and see how it all pans out?!!

Smacks a little bit of receiving the backing of the board.

Absolutely agree they still count (for some) in terms of money, but they certainly seem to mean f-all in terms of loyalty or longevity.

Absolutely the right thing to do to stop all this stupid speculation on Sherwood coming in, whats the point in backing a manager in pre season getting every player he asked for in and sacking him after 1 bad game, you dont want speculation in the dressing room, you dont want players having any excuses , all init together win lose or draw.

                                too right tarbie.

i think its a bit hasty from the board to be throwing out new conracts to harry and the coaches.

Dont want him sacked either but he needs to start earning his new contract in the prem.

if there is a free get out clause if we get relegated then fair enough.
