Long way to go yet and we have new players and systems to bed in. How many times does a minnow or newly promoted team start promisingly and then dramatically, and often catastrophically, fall away? On the other hand, how often does a team marooned/doomed at foot of table and seemingly a goner perk up and scramble up the table? I can see us falling between these two stools.... the points WILL come; lets see where we are after 9/10 games.

We should probably take it easy BUT why is it always QPR that needs to be bettered - Leicester did well against Chelsea and Burnley did reasonable at Swansea yesterday. Would be nice if we in these kind of matches could at least do a decent job at parking the bus to prevent these 4-0 5-0 defeats.

How did we play against Hull? I've forgotten, I take it we played like today?

But you didn't see us getting promoted though.

We kept Hughes for 12 games before pulling the trigger and then the excuse for Harry not keeping us up was that it was already too late. That means fans were saying we were relegated by game 12. We are about to go into game three so premature to call for him to be sacked. But if we lose the first four then the question will start to be asked. Sunderland at home therefore crucial we don't lose.

We still lost at home to a relegation rival. I'm not sure you can derive too much comfort from that, especially after you've just seen what happens against decent opposition.

I think you have an arguable point but I disagree. I never wanted MHs in at any stage and never bought into the revolution but HR IMHO is different. The problem HR had was he had no base to build on, he's never really had a team as such to manage, he took over when his brief was simply to keep us up, the funds were provided but short term Remy and Samba. It didn't work out and then spent last season trying to off load expensive mistakes and was given limited funds to get us up which he succeeded.
The problem is any coherent team was missing under his tenure, all the players that have come in this summer plus Austin can't be faulted. Not one buy was wrong, the team needs to be created but I think for once we have the players, something I never thought we had under MH. Not the time to panic.

                    Bouncebackability to coin a phrase.

The next game will be the true test to see if any real team-spirit exists - players fighting for the cause, the team and each other.

In our first season on the premiership, we did well against a lot of the better teams, but then we lost against the teams we were expected to beat.

The honest answer is no, TF will not wait as long as he did with Hughes if things don't improve rapidly.

No one can seriously be suggesting a back 3 which has Rio plus either Clint or RD - unless forced to by circs. We'd end up too deep.
Posted the day before. I couldn't believe we then actually lined up with RD alongside Rio at Spurs away.

Expectations on this forum are far to high. This is a very very competitive league with some very good players. As fans I think we need to realise that we will lose and draw more than we win.
