  • The QPR Plan V the Fulham Plan

Mocking them aside and on a serious note their start to the season is surely confirmation that Harry got it right when he went for experience last season

There were huge cries on this board to bring the kids in but that's what Fulham have done and its totally blown up in their face. If there is one league were kids are not the answer its the championship probably the hardest league of them all. Its a mans league and it really is starting to look like men against boys for them.

Our experience got us through our rough patch and saw out over 30mins with 10men at Wembley and you cannot put a price on experience. Our older heads like Dunne, Hill and Barton were key Fulham had these heads in Hangerland and Sidwell but pushed them out the door.

There next five games are a derby against Brentford, Cardiff, Reading, Forest and Blackburn it could well get worse before it gets any better. Im just relieved Harry withstood the pressure to put a squad of kids together as were now seeing before our eyes the outcome

Hmmm, yea good points. I think you need a bit of a blend but I agree the championship is especially tough where you need people that have been there done that.

Good post. Can't believe Fulham dumped all their experienced players and put all the kids in. McCormack is a decent striker but 11m is just crazy money, should've signed 3/4 old Prem heads like we did to mix with the kids.

        Am6iti0n eh? Jokers.

Just hope they dont sack magath and bring in Pulis..... He would bring in some decent players and stabilize.

Sadly Penfold is on borrowed time, would'nt surprise me too see him sacked before their next game.
Harry is a great manager, and we are lucky to have him

Good post but I disagree it's the hardest league. IMO the top division is always the toughest.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

when its us...every division is the hardest. i think westie was just pointing out what everyone says....its a bloody hard lge to win-proper dogfight. we all know the top lge is that for a reason. let any top manager have a pop at championship level with an average club and spending to suit-most would'nt last to long imo.

Magath appears completely detached and unaware of the rigors of the English game, especially at Championship level. I personally am revelling in their implosion, if not because we always used to hear from their fans what a big club they were, and how successful they had been in recent years, whilst we languished in the lower leagues. It may be petty for me to feel such schadenfreude, but karma's a *****.

I suppose in hindsight we can say that Harry got it right...but let's not forget we were a matter of minutes from deciding whether our season would be successful or by the lottery of penalties. We slogged our way to promotion, and got over the line by the skin of our teeth. With that in mind, I refuse to either criticise Redknapp too harshly for the negativity of the football last season, or indeed praise him too highly for getting us up. He's played a blinder this summer mind you.

We also got it right behind the scenes. Whilst we invested heavily in the social media side (free streamings for pre season games, how good was that) and tried to bring the club together as one, Fulham went and made a whole host of their backroom staff redundant. How can they achieve on the pitch when off the field, they fire their £6/hr cleaning lady?

Our achievements on and off the pitch are seriously underestimated by other fans and the media.
