As we all know we need some assurances . ... Can see us not getting another forward in and losing him in the final hour on deadline day .... Without replacement that would be a disaster

Now getting wellbeck in would certainly soften the blow

We would have Austin, Vargas and Zamora until January. I'm not so sure that is a DISASTER.

Agreed that disaster is a little strong but it would most definatly have a big impact

On Remy going to Spurs or Arsenal. Arsenal I can see him going but can't see Arsenal taking him on not as first choice. Spurs why they not top 4 club never well be. He wants to be playing champion league football. Going to spurs only to mean him wasting 3 years before he could move on to top 4 club. Where staying with us could mean Jan or next Aug getting his wish if he proves himself. One thing on going to any champion league club at present he going to spend most of the time on bench, but with us if he fit he plays.

Tottenham and arsenal to battle for remy ??
I personally feel he we stay just a hunch but we will go in for a decent striker if he goes maybe Jordan Rhodes

The reason he isn't signing a new contract is that he thinks he might get a move. It doesn't take much. Only an injury to one of the strikers in a top 4 side or maybe a sale that they weren't expecting to make. They get an easy and very cheap replacement by coming for Remy. I'm not sure whether he will go or not but there's a very good chance that he will. We have to plan for the worse case scenario that he won't be here. That's why I think the Vargas signing was so crucial. Because his versatility means that instead of just a number 10 he can also slot in as a direct replacement for Remy.

Maybe he hasn't been offered a new contract ? Haven't seen it confirmed anywhere

It seems to me that he is already on top money - by all accounts more than Arsenal would be willing to pay him. I think we are learning from our past mistakes in not offering him even more. Yes, the buy out clause sux but it isn't worth compounding our previous error to get rid of it. We need to get our wages in line with our income.

Would love him here if Remy left, but the numbers quoted make me a bit queasy tbh

the fact we've made a couple of £8m signings this summer is both wonderful and terrifying at the same time.

We need to get involved in that discussion, particularly given Remy's apparently tenuous status. Fantastic player, IMHO.

No maybe not. But he's been called out from both Harry and Tony numerous times to decide whether he wants to stay and he hasn't said anything.

I think it would be a disaster personally.

                                Best striker at the club.

Scored 16 Premier league goals last season

                                Austin never played top flight

                                Vargas never played top flight

Zamora cart horse in comparison to 99% of PL strikers.

For me that is a disaster.
