  • £10m bid for Andros Townsend rejected by Spurs

    From Southampton

I'd love him back with us but £10m is a lot of dosh although I think he's worth it.

Anyone think Harry will go in for him?

Taylor made for a 3-5-2 formation.

Age, ability, sell on value I'd say £12-13m

Not sure we can afford that but I'd love him back. Think he'd really thrive in this new system.

Like the player but not sure where he would fit in our system. We are over-loaded with wingers and we are no longer playing with any. Its one or two midfielders plus a striker we need.

He will be a bargaining tool for Remy

He's £7m tops in my opinion. Whats he actually done at Spurs?

He's young, English, performed excellently in the last 2 years and broken into the national team.... and you think £7m tops. Get a reality check on the premier league transfer market.

I don't think I would feel comfortable paying more than that for him.

So what if he is English? Sigurdsson scored more goals last season for Spurs than Townsend and had the same number of assists - £8.8m.

He's young but has been loaned out across the lower leagues without ever really proving much. Played 25 times for Spurs last season, getting 1 goal & 0 assists. Scored for England against Montenegro. He's overrated and never worth 10M, could get a much better player for that. Spurs are laughing if they get any more for him..

Southampton are wasting all that money.

Completely different types of players and English players generally go for more money, regardless if they are better or not. With the money having gone up again clubs are paying even more ridiculous prices than before. Shane Long for £12m says all you need to know.

mmm...Rickie Lambert £4m...proven PL goalscorer - more prolific than Long.
