  • Austin and Barton on Goals on Sunday

Austin looks distraught hope they can pick him up during the week

  • #2
    Indeed.
That was a very poor penalty by Charlie's standards, and hopefully, the rest of the squad will quickly help to lift him out of the doldrums.
Charlie is a natural born goal scorer, he just needs to keep believing in himself.

Didn't look distraught. Was very very confident about taking the next penalty. Kamara said he called Austin and said he didn't need to come on if he didn't want, but Austin wanted to be there.
Joey talked a lot... which he always does. The whole squad believe in Charlie and that he will score goals. As Joey said, he will learn more as the season goes on

It speaks volumes him coming on this show after the penalty miss. Chaz even said how Steve Black was such a great appointment and how after a game was finished to forget and focus on next game even if the last game went well.

We will have a new relentless positivity mentality and I love it. Hope we keep it going at LR and amongst the fans. We can be that 12th man on the pitch like Palace's fans were at Selhurst last year. We will enjoy this season no matter what.

Got a feeling people are looking to much into it, trying to make something big out of something small... Charles 1st game in the premiership, wasn't his best game for us. But he'll probably take a few games to really get going just like he did when he 1st joined for us.... Personally think he'll have a blinding season for us once he gets going, he's young, physical, full of energy and has a natural eye for goal.... just takes time!

As for the penalty... it was a $hit penalty but he'll move on, that's what striker's do no matter what the level of football is, its all part of being a penalty taker, these things happen. The boy's will get right behind him in training and get his confidence going again (that's if it was ever knocked in the 1st place), no doubt he'll be doing extra penalty practice after Saturday. No problems, no worries!

Loved the way the Charlie Austin song was sung after the penalty miss. Proper support that.

That's why we need to utilise our wingbacks properly, so we can get good service on his head. Simpson provided no threat and Traore only started putting crosses in towards the end. We'll learn from it though.

Thought it was funny as when charlie said 'next pen we get i will be straight up to take it'. Kammy said 'as captain joey are you okay with that, will you let him take the next one'. Charlie quickly snapped back 'he will have no choice'.
Thought they were great, and they dissected our whole match and there are so many positives, and joey is a superb ambassador and captain for this club. Drop him NEVER!

We're lucky to have him, aren't we Kevin. And a minority of folk on here want to drop him? After last season??? Heart and soul of the club at present. And a brilliant inspiration in the dressing room. Joey is the anti-Adel. Talent is nothing without character, heart and intelligence.

So true 77,hope you watched the whole show. He truly loves this club now, and said he had to change and the play off final was the best moment of his life. They showed the highlights again and when bobby scored he said 'i get goosebumps every single time i see that, ive even got them now'. Should and will (imo) go down as an all time rangers great.

Joey is a top bloke - talks so much sense and clearly feels at home now. His influence on and off the pitch will be vital
