  • Some positives and some negatives

I came away from today's game feeling really frustrated because we came away with nothing at home against a very average team in Hull Tigers.
I can't understand why Harry played Dunne instead of Nedum Onuoha. Dunne's distribution is as good as Dan Shittu's. He can't play football with his feet and you need to as a defender in the Premier League. He's a very good Championship player who is too slow for the Premier League. As for Traore and Simpson - they clearly need more time to adapt to the 3-5-2 formation because they were pathetic as wingbacks today. The sooner Isla plays the better, I think. But the biggest concern for me was the lack of creativity in our midfield. I think Caulker and Rio gave up laying the ball off to our midfielders as they knew they weren't creating anything and that led the pair lumping balls up to Remy, who needs it played to his feet or to run on to.
The positives for us was that Rio and Caulker both looked very assured on the ball and they worked very well together. Faurlin was also superb in midfield but he was playing alongside two other midfielders in Barton and Mutch who weren't good enough today. I think today showed we really need a creative midfielder otherwise we're going to struggle.
Lastly, considering Remy has had no pre-season and it was his first game for us today I thought he looked pretty good. We really need to keep him if we're going to have a chance of staying up this season because I think Austin will take time to adapt the Premier League - he was taking too many touches today and wasn't getting his shots away quick enough

Problem with Dunne is the pace but I got to give him credit for today.

If Remy don't start to get service, he'll want to leave so we really need to sort that out. Overall I think we played well, there were signs that show we have what it takes to stay up.

The bad news is that the teams who we expect to be at the bottom look tough.

I think we'll get something at Spurs, got that feeling!

I thought Traore did ok today. Mutch played most of the game behind the front two, and you're right about Dunne, shouldn't have started.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I agree Traore did okay and will get better. I'll be disappointed if Dunne starts after the winder shuts.

I do not want to sound negative but Simpson is a good championship defender. People over rate him at Rangers as he gets caught out to much for my liking. He could not do at Newcastle and I cannot see him doing it at QPR in the ELP.

Not nice to say it but simpson and dunne are not good enough for this division. Ale im not sure about either, but with isla and fer starting we will be fine i am certain. Didn't look out of our league by a long way and should of got the draw of remy had taken that penalty. It was to much for charlie on his first ever game in the big time and it was really clear to see.

Think Simpson's good enough defensively, but bang average or worse offensively. Can only be used with four at the back. Won't play much when Isla's registered. Shame. He's a nice lad.

Positives for me were the TEAM, played well together, the support from us the fans was good

                      Negatives for me the result

POSITIVES - . We played quite well in the first half especially and I think the foundation is there of a decent side. Still need a couple more players in. Rio and Caulker look very good. Faurlin & Barton were good in the first half. Remy needs me games and service but obviously is a threat, Charlie played his first PL game and hopefully the penalty miss won't dent his confidence.

NEGATIVE - We looked less fit than them in the second half. Only when some fresh legs come in near the end did we pick up. Simpson is nowhere near good enough as a wing back. If we're going to play 3-5-2 then the wing backs have to be good going forward and he looks very poor going forward. Traore wasn't that much better tbf. The Dunne comments are a bit harsh, however if I had a choice I'd prefer Ned, more mobile

I agree about Dunne as for Simpson, he is a right back who is solid at defending in a flat back four. He is not a wing back because he offers little in attack. QPR looked a lot better when he went off and Phillips played in the rwb role.

A negative for me was that QPR don't defend corners with a player on each post. Hull scored because of this yet they twice cleared off the line because they did have a player on each post.
This has happened a few times now over the last 3 seasons.

Remy had a very good game given that this was his 1st game since the World Cup and he hasn't had a pre season.
If he stays, QPR will have a great chance of staying up.

I was disappointed with Austin's penalty. He scored a few last season but never looked confident with this one and scuffed it along the ground. I think that once he settles as a Premiership striker.

I'd like to see Yun and Isla or Phillips as the wing backs.

We've now missed the last five penalties we've been awarded in the premiership.. All saved by the keeper.....
