I guess we all look for different things. I think his distribution is excellent, and actually I don't feel he is especially slow. I think he has been lacking confidence. Name an left back who has been better than him in the last 3-4 years for us.... Delaney had half a good season then was awful. Barker really IS slow. Borrowdale uses the ball well and is decent. Not a world beater, no.

Borrowdale has done nothing new to stop the criticism. I've never booed and I never will but unless he radically improves his game he will be criticised for it. Ferriera was returning from injury and Belleti was slow but we didn't trouble either. Borrowdale needs to add an attacking option to his game otherwise we have nothing down the left hand side. Unfortunately we need Delaney's forward play mixed with Borrowdale's defensive play with Routledge's pace.
A quality full back will create freedom for his winger by drawing defenders away from him and they should have the ability to put in a good ball as well - just like Ashley Cole does for Chelsea. Borrowdale does neither and therefore will continue to be criticised.

I sometimes really wonder what people see that polarises opinion so much. For me Borrowdale is the best left back we have had for a long time. His body language screams inferiority though because of what has happened at QPR, but I think we need to give him the credit he deserves.
Hows the hangover coming along mate?Win or lose, on the booze

Another really poor performance by Borrowdale IMO. A very weak link in the team and certainly NOT an improvement on Delaney
The man gives me the impression that he is frightened to be in possession of the ball and his first instinct is to get rid of it as quickly as possible.
Thought he got off lightly yesterday.

He's decent enough at this level, but like someone suggested, he isn't the best left back in the league and he wouldn't make the premiership, but he is a good squad player, he reminds me of Ian Barraclough under the Ray Harford era in 1998....
