We can be really proud of this team and it should end up in top 6. While opponents got stronger in the second half we got weaker and weaker mostly because of subtitutions. This is how I saw this.
Goalkeeping: Heaton was excellent and quickly looking to get the ball in play.
Defence: Both fullbacks played well. Stewart had a good game but Gorrks not as good expecially his passing.
Midfield: Played very well for 60 minutes. Faurlin was the best player in the match in the first half but faded. Rowlands also had a good match. Same can be said of Buzsaky and Routledge.
Attack: Simpson and Vine are very good but need to play more matches together to get that understanding working. Simpson needed more service and the trouble with Vine last night was his final passing which was very bad.
Manager: All his subtitutions made the team worse Taarabt for Vine made it weaker because Taarabt is so selfish. Ephraim for Rowlands made it also worse because without Rowlands we lost som bide in the middle. Finally Pellicori for Simpson was the worst of all. Touched the ball 2 times in 20 minutes and did not bother to run. Helguson would have been a good sub there (why HH is on loan and Pellicori is not is plainly wrong). I believe we should have got into extra time if the subtitution were not made.
Then look at the other teams subs Lampard, Cole and Terry - all current England internationals.
