In 2010/11 we were a bog standard play-off side, plus Adel. We'd barely escaped relegation the previous year, most people expected mid-table. Of our squad that season, none have gone on to play in the PL regularly (Walker and Routledge aside, but they were loans). Closest would be Hill, Faurlin and Mackie, for us.
Our squad last season was the most expensive in Championship history, full of players who would expect to spend their careers in the top flight. Don't see how you can compare the impact of the two.
Think of it this way: had Liverpool won the league last season, Suarez would have deservedly taken a lot more credit than Pellegrini did.
