i thought we got at them so much more than i expected, alrite 2nd half was not as good as first but they did have better players out there as the game was wearing on and players like buzz, simpson were gettin tired. not sure how u can not be proud. we were playing one of the best teams in the world mate, with or without there full team. what was you really expecting!? to dominate chelsea at chelsea, ur must be off ur head mate cos that is never gonna happen, it doesnt happen. i agree about the striker part but in fairness our mids had some good chances from outside the box but couldnt get them on target for some reason..... then again the warm up before the game started where nearly every shot went into the stand shoulda had us prepared for that... ahahahahah

I agree with the author of this thread. For the second time in two years we have succumbed to a far from mighty Chelsea (second) team by the narrowest of margins. There is nothing to be proud of here.
Us beating Villa at their ground last year, now that is something to be proud of.Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

How and why did I start supporting QPR in Estonia:

I come from a family half CFC fans (Mum's side) half QPR (Dad's side) and to be honest it don't wash much in the **** taking stakes to say I'm proud we only lost 1-0 at least we got at you a bit!

We played well and I find it annoying that someone could even begin to question that.
The likes of Ivanovic, J Cole, Mikel, Kalou, Ferriera, Belletti, Malouda and Zhirkov are all internationals, some of which are class. Add to that the introduction of John Terry who funny enough is England Captain, Ashley Cole who love him or hate him is one of, if not THE best LB in the world and Frank Lampard who again is one of the best at what he does.
I'd hardly call that 'far from mighty' considerring we're a CCC club.Your mum would love me...

I'm proud, given the limitations we all know about (ie take Simpson off and we know we cannot score). Think its all v well for some critical people to say Buz, Faulin etc should have sprayed the ball around more but I thought they did to a fair extent - hard to emphasise how much harder it is to do that against some of the best players in the world - Lampard, Cole, Terry etc - than it is against Peterborough Utd. There was no point really hurling the kitchen sink at them because we basically don't have a kitchen sink - a Beckford type player. Given that, think we played better than we cd have poss expected.
Its all v well saying you would rather have lost 5-0. But bet Jim Magilton wouldn't having to pick up the players for the only match this week I'm really bothered about - at home to Barnsley. After Cardiff and a v gd showing against Chelsea think we are set up nicely now.

Chelsea second team ???
We had a good go at a chelsea team managed by one of the best managers in the world and that contained :
ashely cole, john terry, ferrera, mikel, lampard, joe cole, malouda, kalou, Ivanovic, Zirkhov, Belletti
EVERY reason to be proud IMO

VERY much Chelsea's second, or even third string team, considering other fringe players that could have played.
Solid, if unspectacular display from us. We didn't put our foot down and gamble when needed. Faurlin and Borrowdale again showing why they should be nowhere near our first team, though Rowlands, Heaton, Gorkks and Routledge performed well.

I do not subscribe to the "losing but playing well" approach.
When you play well, you achieve a result, a win or at least a draw.
We played well against Villa last year - we won.
Surely you cannot feel equally proud about losing
1-0 to Chelsea and beating Villa by the same score?
So, by comparison, the word "proud" would be better off
reserved for performances like that one against Villa?Banning people is no longer my hobby,

Even more pleased that you were able to see we clearly sat back, rolled over and looked clueless.Your mum would love me...

It was the sort of match where it was difficult to say who should be given man of the match because nobody was head and shoulders above anyone else. I still believe that Borrowdale offers us nothing going forward and with Buzsaky wanting to come in all the time we didn't pose enough of a threat down the lefthand side.

Did anyone honestly expect us to win?
I would have taken a 1-0 defeat at the start of the match given the quality of the opposition (reserve side or otherwise).
That's why I'm proud.
Yes, of course, it would have been nice to play like Brazil and wipe the floor with them but the reality is... We Are QPR. We are in the Championship and we are playing Barnsley this Saturday, not Spain in the World Cup final.
I think some of us are forgetting that.

At what point did we pose a threat to chelsea, or chelsea have to get out of 2nd gear?? If any Chelsea fan is reads these qpr messageboards today, they must be thinking they were at a different game.
We all left the bridge for a second cup game not understanding what the hell we were supposed to be doing out there. In the second half we semi-parked the bus, and chelsea were just playing around us while we sat back, deeper and deeper into our box like a training game. At one point buzz, our most gifted player, was playing the holding role in midfield while the argy was upfield losing the ball FFS. In the second half I would rather we lost 5-0 trying to beat them than accepting 1-0 and being proud.
IMO all we got for £20 was to sing to Terry that his mom's a thief, as for the second time at the bridge in recent years we never even had a remote chance of scoring or winning.
A total waste of time.
I thought we played well last night, although it was largely a chelsea reserve team it was still full of internationals earning £50,000 to £100,000 a week and with a little more composure of front we could have got a goal.
