  • If De Guzman signs

Will he be the answer to our lack of creativity? Good goal and assist stats for Swansea, but I'm not entirely sure where he plays. Is he a number 10? The few times I've watched him though I have been impressed as he keeps the ball really well. Played in the World Cup if I remember rightly too so has abit about him.

Its frustrating when you are linked to a player and you suddenly wished you had taken a bit more notice of him when you've seen him play countless times. From memory he is more a box to box midfielder rather than a number 10 but I stand to be corrected by greater experts.

He can take our free kicks. Alledgedly a specialist. Him and Barton would be great at that.

He's a box to box midfielder, very tidy player but not a number 10.

I watched him playing for Swans and Netherlands.

Not exactly a number 10 like Matty said.

But he has pace and some skills in him.

His shot power and accuracy is more than average.

          Could be an option

Seen him many times over the last 2 years as my wife is a Swansea fan.

Positives - passing, decent shot, can score goals (if he's got time on the ball).

Negatives - pretty weak, can't tackle/often bottles tackles, gives up easily/slow tracking back and generally jogs around i.e. rarely breaks into a sprint so appears like he's lazy & not putting the effort in !

General - its very rare that he imposes himself in a game, so subbed fairly often or starts as sub as other midfielders at Swansea like Leon Britton & Jonjo Shelvey are better than him imo.

Article says that the callabarator of de Guzman was watching Napoli and that de Guzman could be on their list re midfielders - it doesn't say he's signed etc

Fer is now a championship midfielder so we are not beneath him

Am I the only one who holds out hope for Hoilet to be the key to our creativity (if he's still have)??... he's always been skill full but on the wing really struggled putting a decent ball in or simply took aim at defenders ankles. BUT if he could play just behind the strikers IMO he could cause defender's some real problems with them being on the back foot and Hoilet coming at them with his his trickery and Remy and Austin to pick up any passes/loose ball's.
                            SIR LESLIE FERDINAND!!

No, you are not alone. Junior showed in pre-season that this could be a role for him. The main problem is that he has not delivered enough quality to date for people to allow him the chance to shine in such a role. probably not enough step overs and flicks to warrant the adoration
