    Sat 31 December 1977
Queens Park Rangers 1-3 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Given I was born on the 29th December 1977 I think it's safe to say I have no recollection of how good the match was. Got a signed programme somewhere.

Reading or Swindon 1965-66 season (sigh), so long now can't remember which one was first
I must away now, I can no longer tarry
This morning's tempest I have to cross
I must be guided without a stumble
Into the arms I love the most

1-1 draw at Highbury on 30th April, 1974.

All I remember is that we scored first.

Edit: I'm also pretty sure that both goals were scored in front of the North Bank. In which case ours must have been in the first half.

'Only a Ranger!' cried Gandalf. 'My dear Frodo, that is just what the Rangers are: the last remnant in the South of the great people, the Men of West London.' - Lord of the Rings, Book II, Chapter I - Many Meetings.

Played Chelsea at the Bridge three times in '74. The Shed wasn't the problem, it was the large expanse of unsegregated open terracing with a sizable firm which went by the moniker 'the North Stand' that was the problem. All three visits were hairy, but the FA Cup game early in January produced a good old fashioned terrace punch up, which saw Rangers stand their ground, which surprised me as they cleared the Loft in a few minutes the previous time we'd met. Few hundred of us, surrounded by half time by a ring of coppers.

well firstly nice to welcome you onboard

BOSTONR I THINK YOU USED TO POST ON THE QPRORG,yes i remember those games back in 1984 it was as you say a time for us to stand our own ground
our mob now bolsterd by funky c mob was a differant proposition for the chelsea bully boys, something you may not have been aware of is when they cleared the loft our heavy mob wasnt at that time in the loft, they had formed c mob and sat in the south africa stand, but when qpr played away they stood with the normal fans and fought like tigers
outside in 1984 many chelsea got a good kicking and they finally realised that knowbody respected them any more, because they refused to stand against west ham
now they were 4th best in london where as in 68-69 they had been number one

Not sure if im reading this, but are you saying your rents took a two day old baby to a football match, and a busy packed out football match cos we were top of the league as well. Nah, surely not.

Yeah, only time we stood up to 'em at Stamford Bridge in the good old bad old days! Yes, I'm a .org poster, used to come on here in this boards early days under a different name but experienced so many logging in problems I just gave up. Thought I 'd give it another shot the other day and low and behold!
The SAR in '84, by then I was sitting up on B Block with about a 15/20 mates,C Mob squawking away up behind us.
Not the first time in our history we had an 'enthusiastic' contingent in that side, remember the crowd who congregated around the tunnel when the Paddock and exec boxes used to be a terrace? I migrated from the School End and stood with them for a few seasons as a nipper, they never got bumped by anyone.
