FWIW I like Townsend, his effort is good, and he comes across as a decent sort.

Townsend would be a top signing imo. He is young, has EPL experience, and would likely be pleased to come to the club as he came before- cant say that about many players.
He delivered more on loan when the going was tough in the EPL than any of the current wingers did in the championship last year.

Personally I struggle to think of a single footballer who is "worth" much more than a second hand Ford Escort - sadly the market takes a different view...

What a bloody joke. Some people on here forget what size of a club we are. If and a big IF we signed townsend that is a MASSIVE signing for QPR. He is a class player and only 23. To see posts that hes just one footed, one dimensional blah blah is a joke. He came to little qpr was a stand out player and the following year played regularly for a top 5 team in the prem which resulted in international recognition and him being the hope of the england team for the world cup.
Short memories on here as hes gone a bit under the radar the last 6 -7 months due to injury.
Absolute joke some of our fans, 10 mill for 23 year england winger being questiones when we signed a 22 year old england international cb - prices are about right and hed be a massive signing for most prem team outside top 4 but obviously not for the mighty QPR.

1) If by 'wider market' you mean the global market then that's irrelevant to QPR and Spurs who are in the UK.
2) What he'd cost IS what he's worth if someone is prepared to pay that amount for him. That's basic GSCE level economics.
