We need to be brave this season and make the most of the few opportunities we get to push the ball forwards which his reluctance to pass forwards having him in the middle of the park could be our biggest weakness as what will happen is exactly what happened last season when he was on the ball the opposition will all get back and behind the ball because he plays so slow, negatively and backwards

    He just isn`t good enough.
Would be a massive step backward.
Harry will have learned a lot from last season and surely realised it`s time for change.... So a huge NO from me...

Far far far far too weak. Imagine him against any of the PL Central Midfielders, it would be an absolute bloodbath.

      ..............Its a NO from me.

I've always slated Carroll but believe he was played in the wrong position. If played in a more advanced role - maybe a number 10 - could be a decent player.

What exactly were people watching last season?

Comments like Carroll would fit in this new system where the aim is to keep the ball and he'd thrive with 3 in the middle, like he did last season.

We had one of, if not the highest possession stats last season and Carroll always played in a 3 and was generally terrible. If you're not going to get your kit dirty while playing in the middle of the park then you best be really good at something else, like passing, something Carroll isn't good it, yet many believe he is. The amount of hospital balls he played last season was frightening and the amount of decisive passes was next to none.

I think Cally has point about ball retention and movement of which T C is good at , no very good at ! just not weighty or strong enough on last seasons showing , but then a youngster can spring up over 1o week lay off so worth a look

Personally think he would be a great signing ... for a Conference side.

As others have said way too fragile. You need strength to be a top footballer. Ability on it's own not enough. He struggled for much of last season and would even more so at a higher level. I don't buy all this 'get more time' stuff. An opposition manager would identify him as a weak point and would have him closed down as soon as he got near the ball.

Agree 100 %. Maybe we have posters who do not watch our games but read player ratings from wikipedia. That would explain a lot.

his best position is cutting up the oranges at half time
