3 in the middle remains in this formation. Carroll is a Championship player at best, massively overrated for me.

The key to this system is ball retention and keeping the ball moving, I just felt he would have been more suited to that style? I wasn't a fan of his but a horses for courses.
          Kept the faith!

Would be a useful player to have but I dont think he will be loaned this season. could put in a bid for Huddlestone instead to play that deep playmaker role, he can put it on a sixpence with either foot.

If we had stayed up we might have had a chance, good player.

I think he would be a great buy if we can get him cheap.

Would definitely buy him. Suits a league where you get more time on the ball, and in a midfield 3 he'll thrive (like he did last season, but people like to ignore these things!).

Kent don't want to disagree with you but at what point of last season did the lad thrive?? He past it sideways, he past it backwards and he gave it short on many of occasions. He had one good game in my book the rest had he not been on the pitch we would not have noticed

We need to be brave this season and make the most of the few opportunities we get to push the ball forwards which his reluctance to pass forwards having him in the middle of the park could be our biggest weakness as what will happen is exactly what happened last season when he was on the ball the opposition will all get back and behind the ball because he plays so slow, negatively and backwards
