  • Redknapp - Premiership class?

I have to say I was very disappointed with the overall style of play last year under Redknapp but how do peeps think we will play this season? Will HR be a better Premiership manager than he was a Championship one?

I expect us to play the same style. Try to grind out points by not giving up goals. As with last season, it won't be pretty. Lets see how we go.

I'm more optimistic under this 3-5-2 formation

Last season was disappointing style wise & some will say we did what we set out to achieve, which is correct, albeit by the skin of our teeth. Hopefully we will try & be a bit more fluid & try & win a few games, especially against teams whom we will actually be able to compete with (not top six). Looks like we have made a few decent signings & if Remy stays to add some much needed fire power, maybe we'll be ok & play with a bit of flair.

Tbh whilst that style was $hit last year, it'll be what we need this year. We set up every game last year not to lose, rather than to go & get a convincing win (which we should have been doing in that league). But this year if we try & go all gungho we will get torn apart by most sides. Setting up solid and aiming not to concede before thinking about scoring a hatful is fine by me this year, personally.

I do hope so - lots of times when walking away from LR season I was questioning my sanity!!!

I can only say I was "happy" with two of our home performances - Forest and Wigan.

I wanted him out, now I must admit, I might have been wrong, it's early days but it smells different already. He is putting together a young squad that's bonding nicely, hats off to that man!

To everyone who struck by him, you are truly knowledgable.

Exactly mate. None of the games will be pretty to watch at all but if it gets us the results we want, who the hell honestly cares?

Think we need to try & get a win against the lesser sides, not top 6 (bonus points), as may not win them all but going for 3 points is better than holding on for 1 & maybe losing late on in a game.

I'm always a little pessimistic but at the beginning of last season I would of taken fourth. He achieved what was required last season but nothing more. I think the cautious style of play will suit well to the prem. I'm on the fence on the harry arguement but obviously he has the experience in the prem to know what to expect.

The key thing is to keep the dressing room united. Remember the stories after we got relegated about players not even giving a ****? About the French speaking players just forming thier own clique and stuff? Here's a reminder of our players attitude that season, signings both hughes and redknapp were responsible for: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/foo...uge-wages.html

No matter how good or bad players are, i really think team spirit is the key to fighting at the hard end of the table. The players have to be in the right mindset and have an interest in playing for us and keeping is up.

totally agree.......rather get decent results and play boring football. It's the results that matter, not pretty, entertaining football.

dont forget we kept a club record clean sheets last season. If we can keep the defensive standards high in the prem we will have a survival chance
