Gary Bowyer wants to keep Jordan Rhodes at Blackburn but says he's an exceptional player and there's no guarantee he'll be at the club by the end of the transfer window.

I thought he'd just signed a new contract? I'd prefer Rhodes over Deeney to be honest.

Yeah he has just signed a new contract. Pay rise and clause inserted maybe? Far better option to Deeney. If there was a clause in his contract, it would be interesting to see how much.

well seeing they paid around £8 mill for him, doubt the clause (if there is one) would be below £12 mill.

What a strange statement after he's just signed a four year contract.

They've only worried about getting him on a longer contract because they can then demand more money if a club comes in for him. It was almost essential to have any chance of recouping the inflated amount they paid.

If McCormack is quoted at £11m (even though it's widely accepted that's been inflated by Cellini), got to be looking at £15m for Rhodes. Younger, longer contract, scores more goals.

The time to buy Rhodes was when when he was at Huddersfield. A few people on here urged that course of action. We ended with some awful signings and Blackburn ended up with a deal.

A deal...??? I wouldnt call paying massively over the odds at the time a deal. They overpaid in the hope he'd help them bounce back and it backfired. Same will probably happen with Fulham buying McCormack.

He is not worth anything like £15m and would never fetch that much when he's never played in a top flight league. It's fantasy figures. McCormack didnt even go for £11m.

To be fair Del, his goals kept them in the Championship!
