Signing for Martin Allen's Barnett today.

Does anyone know whether he got his £250,000 back from QPR?

Either way I wish him all the best,he's a lovely lad.

        Best of luck to him

Regarding the money, i doubt it. He gave it up so there was no money needed to be given back. Cant imagine he is the sort to start demanding it either. Great gesture as well.

He was on LCI a few months back Gee and said that he didn't when asked but certainly didnt sound bitter over it.

            Good luck Cooky.

Got no time for Allen after his anti-English comments a few years ago.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

I'll never forget how he took my grand-daughter under his wing when she was a mascot against Southampton (Blackstock scored in the first minute and she and I missed the goal as we were making our way back to our seats).

We haven't had someone that could cross a ball since Lee Cook left..looking at Traore on Sat he was outpacing defenders and having lots of time and space but still produced a poor cross every time..think that if Charlie gets some decent service from crosses then he will score goals as he looks a real threat in the air

Bumped into him in Pitcher & Piano in Richmond a couple of weeks ago & had a brief chat with him, was a genuiely nice fella. Said he was guna sign for either Barnet or Dagenham - pleased for him, real Rangers legend in my eyes, if for no more than that £250k gesture. Wish him all the best at Barnet.

Nice. With Barnet moving to a QPR area of North West London@Edgware/Canons Park, I can see a few Rangers fans going to watch a few Barnet games at the new Hive Stadium after Cookys quality years of service for his boyhood club and his immense 250k gesture.

Shall be looking to go to a few Barnet games this year in me QPR attire and looking for Barnet's results now.

Sat next to him at Chelsea a few years back when we lost 1 nil in the FA Cup, sang his heart out for the lads as well.

When he was at his best for us he was different class, was really gutted when he left.

Had a great chat with him at half time at Wembley whilst we were both waiting for a pint, absolute legend and a seriously nice guy! Wish him all the best
"Imagine a relationship that went wrong but you held on in there for years: that's what it is like supporting a football team. Your loyalty to a team can never die. Ties are stronger than they could ever be with a woman. If she goes and sleeps with your best mate, it's over. If the Rs' boss, Ian Holloway, slept with my best mate, QPR would still be my team. Even if many of the things that you loved about going to matches have gone - terraces, team shirts without sponsors and being able to smoke at grounds - you still stick with your team." - Peter Doherty.
