  • What a difference -

I have been pessimistic about this 3 5 2 formation but today with a decent 11 its makes so much sense.

I thought we looked really good today and fluent. The wing backs work so well, with the three defenders covering them at all times. With two upfront we look so much more dangerous and give the other defenders a lot more to worry about.

Most people know I have given hoilett my fair share of stick but have to say in the cam role he looked a different player. On the wing he just doesnt do it for me, he loses the ball and his crossing has a lot to be desired. But in the no 10 posiiton he runs at players has more freedom, and just looks a threat. This could be a new lease of life for him.

Fantastic for charlie to get two. Faurlin and joey looked assured. Also what I liked is even without further additions our starting 11 is actually stronger than what I gave it credit for.
Faurlin looks like hes recovered properley from his injury, hoilett much better in a cam position, traore as a wing back is brillaint.

Add the fact we could have remy in that team...two or three more signings and im optimistic we could finish just below mid table.

I think this show today with a decent 11 shows that the previous worries in the other friendlies were a little premature and ott. Shamrock are also half way through their season and are in pretty good shape.

Really pleased after that and more confident about the 3 5 2.

Big season for Hoilett, hopefully he can rediscover his Blackburn form for us. The pass late on for SWP was class

We played a team the equivalent of the blue square premier so we should be playing well

Can only beat what's in front of you. Plus a clean sheet is always good regardless of opposition

We wont have that much time and space when reality kicks in. Still, you can only beat what is in front of you.

Its not the system that bothers me. We're still short in key areas.

I've thought Traore has been absolutely terrible in all the friendlies, has a cross got past the first man yet? I'm a big fan of his but I've been disappointed, Yun needs to play on Tuesday.

Hoilett did look very good today though.

Traore is better than people give him credit for. Might not be saying much but probably the best crosser of the ball in the squad.

I thought that but crossing been off for a while mate. Rate crossing by scoring from them which becomes a assist when was last one Cisse Liverpool??

His first touch have been a bit woeful at times, The fact he has struggled With his hamsting could very well be the reason.

Your not the only one. I actually don't rate Traore, he's fast but his touch is woeful.

                      Mackie / Etihad ?

For us that would mean around 29k."

Must be... 2 years ago that though not good enough. IMO Matty Phillips is the best crosser at the club sure he had a few assists before he got injured

Would prefer Yun at lwb, hands down. Traore also has a fairly poor shot on him, and no right foot

                            Totally agree.
A complete u turn from the red bull game, felt a bit doom and gloom after that.
Only saw 2nd half today but we were very good, better with bobby on than off.
                            Things are looking up hopefully...

I've never been in any doubt that we are in good hands with Harry Redknapp and his coaching staff.
He's been there, done it, got the T-shirt, and a lot more besides.
Plus, it's been some time since we entered into a top flight campaign with a striker of Charlie Austin's undoubted quality.
This coming season will bear no resemblance whatsoever, to the previous two nightmare premier league seasons, imho.
