  • Who from last years team deserves a starting roll?

I for one want to see 5 or 6 from last year in the first 11. I also think we have 5 or 6 who can hold their own at this level. Who would you want in the first 11 as it stands from last year and who you genuinely think will be. Ie if we were a back four would you drop ned or play him?

I think the following should be in the first 11 -

    Green
    Simpson
    Yun
    Barton
    Phillips
    Austin

If you add caulker and rio to that and we brought in 3 more quality players I think we would have a pretty decent first 11. Id also more than happily put remy into that team if hes here.

Do you think they are good enough or do you want to see 7 or 8 new players? Interested to know what the consensus is.

Out of your names mentioned the one's that I'd be 'concerned' about are Phillips and Yun, purely because we've not seen a great deal from them. But that said what I did see was impressive and I'd have them in there. I'd also have Traore. He really impressed me last season and seamed to get better as the season went on especially being moved to the wing.

I'd like to say Hill 'deserves' his place because he does, BUT he's not a premiership starter, fact!

Depending on the system we play, 352 seems to be the general consensus. Not sure if Simpson has the attacking qualities to fit in. Also not sure where wingers like Philips fit in when we are playing with wing backs. However we will have to see if 352 works & whether we will play it every game. Would like Remy to stay but we badly need some creativity in the side, whether that's Adel or a new signing. Also lack pace in midfield. Definitely need at least 4-5 players in as it will be a long tough season IMO.

Ale Faurlin. I think he as looked good in preseason and deserves a start.

Ok so if it was 3 5 2

              green
              ned
              traore
              barton
              faurlin
              Austin

              or in a 4 2 3 1

              green
              simpson
              traore
              barton
              faurlin
              phillips
              Austin

Are they good enough with 3 or 4 new players added to make us competitive?

Got to say Nick I think phillips is a class player. Was gutted for him last year with his injuries as he would of made thinga a little easier in the way we went up as hes capable of scoring and creating chances. easily prem class imo

I wish Toillet would man up and stop trying to do worldy runs on goal, I know there's a good attacking midfielder in him somewhere!

For me, it has to be Robert Green, Danny Simpson, Nedum Onuha, Joey Barton, and Charlie Austin, to be nailed-on starters against Hull City.
