Its a fair point, I just wonder if he is good enough (wd be v v happy to be proved wrong and will be the first to hold my hand up). McCormack and Rhodes have looked pretty lethal for a long while. Deeney has had two good years after not a great start (admittedly he was apparently played out of position as a winger in his earlier career). Austin is also completely unproven at Prem level. I just fear we are putting all our hopes on two unproven players in Prem terms and if they don't hit the ground running the pressure will start to mount. No prob if we also bring in a more experienced striker on top.
Totally agree, 6mill is a LOT of money for a player who hasn't played in an elite league and isn't particularly young. I don't care if he's English. For a bit of perspective remember that we paid 8m for Remy, Swansea paid 2m for Michu & 12m for Bony.
Buying from the lower leagues is just as much of a risk as buying foreign.
Swansea want him also, but apparently he's not good enough for us as some have said on here
I know mate make me laugh. But in all fairness its down to opinions. Personally think he offers value for money, wont be to big on wages, use to scoring goals and will want it so no brainer but some still think we need to compete with real madrid for rodriguez ect

Had 2 very good seasons for Watford now, some were calling for McCormack who's only had 1 good season. Strange. I think he will offer something different and could play on his own or with Charlie. Abit of pace aswell
