  • Liverpools lucky charm....the R's

We must be Liverpool's lucky charm. They 'stole' Raheem Sterling for nothing (1/2 million!!!) when by today's standards, he may be valued over 30 million!. Now they are getting Remy for 8.5 million when they sold Suarez for 75 million and Borini for 14 million! We may be getting rid of Remy's huge wages, that's for sure. But we are also loosing one of the deadliest strikers in the Premier.....and Liverpool knows it! Hope we may be able to bring in a similar decent striker to compliment Austin.

Wouldn't call it lucky charm at all - just good business sense by Liverpool, buy low sell high. Hope he does well there, if indeed it goes through.

I'd imagine we ended up getting a lot more for Sterling than the 600k that Liverpool originally paid, with add-ons for appearances and England caps etc. As for Remy, we can't really complain, we would never have got him without a fairly attractive sell-on clause and we did get a very nice loan fee for him last season.

Unfortunately it's the way of modern football, the big clubs have a lot of pulling power in the transfer market and unless you've got a player locked down on a long contract with no clauses, little clubs like us will get turned over now and then!

I think I'll wait to the end of this season to assess just how good Remy really is. Think the player comes with a lot of baggage, he is decent but is he really that great. Put it this way he defiantly is no Sir Les and any Geordie will tell you that as well

Yep, Dean Parrett was supposed to be the next big thing which we got around £1m for I think, not sure where he is now, but don't think it's Prem or Champs.
