Edit, here'd the actual quote from the QPR twitter:

Redknapp: "@eGranero11 has come back fit. He's a smashing lad, a good character. He wants to stay. Let's hope he has a good season." #QPR

Love the way whoever writes Harry's twitter actually uses accurate Harry-isms. Maybe just needs a couple of redundant "you knows" and "right sorts" and it would almost read as if Harry cd write...

I like Granero but I can't help thinking he is saying he wants to stay with us as no-one else will offer him a decent/comparable contract.

If he stays and gets his head down like Joey did then we could well have a top player in our ranks.

If Harry is going to play with 3 at the back,2 wing backs & then 3 midfielders then I think granero would be very useful in being the focal point of the 3.just sitting behind the strikers, £ that we would of needed to spend on replacing him in the squad could then be better used to strengthen elsewhere.

Granero was a Real player for some time and that speaks volumes. However, he is not the finished article, otherwise bigger clubs will get hold of him. I think he will be a better player for us this season as this team seems more together. I said it weeks ago that with our current squad and adding some of the players out on loan and four to five new signings, we have a very decent chance.

I like Esteban and and I'm glad to have him back. He came from a well organised Real Madrid to our mayhem we had that year, however I think he showed glimpses of pure class. He must have gained a lot of experience from that circus, especially as it was his first year abroad as well. One year back in Spain added to that and now back with us under as it seems, better circumstances. I get the feeling he's got the right character and wants to do well.
If he's over the nasty knee-injury from last year I actually think he could be a key player for us this season.

People need to remember it takes time for players to adapt to a different league in another country and with a relatively new team. Sorry but anyone who doesn't see that he is a decent player is a very poor judge, he may or may not fit in a midfield 3 but to his credit has got himself very fit and seems to be giving it a real go. Oh and like many other players deemed to be mercenaries was always a dedicated trainer and all round decent professional pleased he is staying.

If, I had to chose; Rather him than Tom Carrol. Besides; as others have pointed out, I´m not sure how well he spoke English when he came.

I fully agree. The guy has got great technical ability and whilst alongside Faurlin they passed the ball around the centre of the pitch superbly. Problems came ultimately when it was decided that playing the pair of them together wasn't protecting the midfield enough and with the 2 of them in CM against teams like West Ham they were getting overrun, so eventually the system was switched up. With Barton alongside those 2 in the CM positions they will have that protection. Don't forget Faurlin's tackling statistics in the season he got injured were the best in the league until he was stretchered off, so Granero will have the protection and more ability around him this time out. Of course he's going to hold onto the ball a bit too long sometimes when he looks to play out of a tight spot to the right and he sees Jamie Mackie stood there. Mackie, a decent pro, but somebody who rarely interchanged quick passing with the rest of the midfield. SWP, and Park also being amongst those players he'd have been feeding the ball to in midfield at the time. Therefore if Granero gives the ball early to players like them and into Cisse up front, the move is likely to breakdown anyway.

He was on twitter all of the time and his tweets seemed to be in good English (as good as any English you get on twitter).

That is the best point on here. Play him in the hole as an attacking midfielder..after all, its the position he plyed his trade at in Spain
