If he`s fit this will be a fantastic signing. No longer world class but still one of the best defenders in the Premier League, even now, if fit (did I mention that already?!). Will not need to play 38 matches to have a big impact for us.

Haha we have some right k***s as fans. Harping on about his drug ban lol - loads of clubs would jump to have rio join them. He's a ultimate pro who made a mistake. Who hasnt? Apart from that he's been a special footballer, the best cb englands had and that includes jt from my time watching footie anyway.
Massive signing and think a lot of people will eat their words when they see him play. If you cant tell the difference between hill ( and god I love him), and dunne then you dont have scooby doo. This is a massive upgrade for us with the potential to sign other youngsters whp will jump at the chance to be around a player of rio's ilk.

Rio in his prime was arguably the best in the world. Now he is in the latter stages of his career and obviously not as good as he used to be, but he is still better than any defender at our club, including the ones under 30.

Its actually embarrassing that people think Rio Ferdinand ISNT good enough for QPR.. Did they forget we were in the championship a few months ago?
This guy was still 1st choice at United up til recently!
And to the people banging on about players being 'injury prone'.. there is only one answer for you people... Richard Dunne, 41 appearances for us last season.
A guy who previously hadn't played at all in the 2 last seasons.

Its nothing to do with him being a "big name" or the fact he "won trophys at Utd", it's becasue he's a massinve improvement over the players we have in that position. It amazes me that some people wont accept this and keep rehashing the same comments.

His drugs ban was for failing to produce a sample rather than because he tested positive. I am not going to set out the entire process professional sports men and women go through in terms of being available for this type of testing but rest assured he will have given dozens and dozens of post match samples and I don't recall there being any issues arising from them.
The random process he failed to meet requires them to be available to give samples at the most random of times and the way I recall it he missed the appointment - big deal. I personally have missed hospital, opticians, doctors and dentist appointments over the years for one reason or another but it doesn't make me a bad person.
Funny thing is, the ones wrongly pinning his guilt as a drug addict on this are pretty much the same ones who suggest he is way over the hill and shouldn't be signed.
It's easy to see things in a particular way if it fits your stance but, personally, I see the act of saying he is a drug cheat because of the circumstances of this matter as a rather banal one and somewhat insulting in our system of innocent until proven guilty.
Accepted, he was guilty - but of missing a test, not of being under the influence. Oh, and as that is his "crime", it does nothing to enhance the argument of those using it to batter him#standuptocancer
