    • bottom line is Rio is now a Rangers player. We all know it's not long term so let's get as much out of it as we can. If it's 10, 20 or 30 games, he will still bring many positives to the club

WE SHOULD ALL GIVE HIM OUR BACKING AND WISH HIM WELL

I think there's a £10 million release clause if we go down!

The point is, what's the obsession with 30 games....??? He could earn us enough points in 10 games that could be the difference between staying up or not. 15 games, 20 games, 25 games, whatever. There's no necessity for players to play 30 games. The majority of the squad wont play anywhere near 30 games, so why should it matter for Rio to the point you're having some sort of breakdown over it????

For the record, 30 games in the prem would equate to 79% of the fixtures. Last season Charlie Austin only played 31 of our 46 league games, which is 67%....... Does that matter to you now?

            • There`s 38 games in a Prem season so to want a 35 year old to play 30 is mental.
I`d be happy for Rio to sit on the bench for games against the top 6-7 teams (12-14 games) that would leave 24-26 games I think he should play in.
              Is that asking too much?
Let`s just get behind him, support him and watch the quality CB we have signed.
The man is a footballing legend and has won all there is to win in club football and that`s not good enough for some.
I think some people need to think what things could have been like had we not won the play off final, Rio signing for Derby would have looked a great signing for them, so why not us???

Exactly this.... i watched the QPR video of Charlie's 20 goals from last season and it's only when you see names like Yoevil, Doncaster and Barnsley that we were playing last season, that you take a step back and realise how lucky we are to be in the prem now and signing such players, being linked to other exciting players and possibly keeping some top players we had loaned out. IT is fantastic and i cant wait for the season ahead with a good team spirit as think we could surprise many people.

                • Think the point about 30 games is stupid. As others have siad the 30 game mark is irrelevant. If he plays 20 - 25 games he's to the best of abillity for us then he's done hos job and we have a very capable and assured cb playing at the heart of QPR's defence.
But this move again isn't just about that - the boost it gives the club and players cant be underestimated. The fact that players like caulker will sign fior us on the back of this deal should speak volumes.
To think a players loses his footballing ability just because of age is just stupid. Lost pace and more suspect to injury yes! He's a clever bloke he will make sure he's in the right positions, hes a good footballing center back and more importantly if anyone has seen the video he shot when signing in looks like he really wants to be here which we cant say for the other flops we previously signed.

The Championship is a good exciting league but it aint the PREM.

                    • I'm not sure why some are getting so upset about signing an older player........

.check out Van Gaals latest addition........

Even harry seems different again - Its like he's got his spark back now. Sounds more motivated and buzzing. Like you say its that feeling of being a prem club.

                        • I think if D!ckie boy was honest with himself after reading many opposing views he's made a bit of a twit of himself but is to far in to admit he may be wrong.

                          Keep digging.

Yep. Caulker signing would be awesome and a Rio would play a huge part in that (fingers crossed, time will tell if we pull it off).
I think a big part of Harry wanting to play a back 3 this season is for Rio just to sit in the middle of the 3 and not have to move too far, so age or mobility really shouldn`t be an issue.
I think as a first signing he is the best we could have hoped for, now others will see he has signed and will look at us a lot more favourably.
