Racist card, PC? Far from it. What era are we living in?

It's called tolerance and respect for our fellow man/woman....Otherwise, stay in dark ages Sir and be left behind.

We have tolerated enough in this country hence why its on its knees. Everyone knows its a free ride its why everyone flocks here and our heritage is destroyed. There is no place for racism in the world its disgusting but people are far to sensitive nowadays and to keen to jump to conclusions.

Im with you mate, I been on here long enough nearly everyday since this site was launched (although not posting all the time) to know you dont post anything like that. Completely agree people are getting to PC - cant even crack a joke anymore. And just for the record this doesnt mean im racist but there are to many foreigners in the prem and this country and by that I mean sub stnadard ones.
Im all for people working here and bringing something to England/Ubut to many don't. Plenty of good enough english/british players and workers who are missing out. We should look after our own first.

Didn't sound like a joke. Sounded a bit more venomous/ignorant. Foreign influx has improved the Prem loads and this country I feel. But you get substandards everywhere. Why have none of our youngsters not been taken by foreign clubs? It's our coaching and scouting systems which take part of the blame as well.

Too much sweeping under carpet and hiding behind saying things are PC. We need to think outside the box and think of the beauty of integration of foreign contingent with our Coaching. Look at Germany, Ozil, Khedira, Podolski and Klose of foreign heritage coached to epic levels for their country.

We can learn and get there soon.

It was a really disrespectiful comment and yes, it was racist. Once again the mods here turn a blind eye to the comments of some - no wonder this place is a laughing stock. I wonder if you would have made that comment where you work? I doubt it.

I've lost count of the number of times over the years that Yousef has been belittled and spoken down to on here.

Well said WeAre!! This country is obsessed with being PC... only a matter of time before there's a little 'PC book' full of things you can and can't say or do.... Also drives me mad when people use the racist card at every opportunity like its a special pass....

To be fair the vast majority of the stuff that's written in that PC book you refer to is cribbed directly from the "How to avoid being an a***hole" book.

I disagree. Our heritage is of being a welcoming and warm country now, which has catapulted us to the most sought after country for business, education, modern culture, health and recreation.

We drive our German cars, watch our Japanese TVs whilst drinking our Danish beers with our Indian Currys or a Chinese meal on an evening.

It really is a beautiful thing being British and being so open and cultured. Long may it continue.

First of all, WeAre, I believe you owe Yousef an apology.........................for insinuating that he has raised the racist card. He simply hasn't and, in fact, chose not to rise to your comment at all, which is commendable. Read the thread back and you will see you are wrong fella.
Secondly, having read your initial post, I can understand what you meant and in no way do I perceive it to be racist. However, if I do understand the point you were making correctly, you are suggesting that the other poster should not get too hung up on what Yousef said because English is not his native tongue and so, the post didn't really make sense?
Now, there lies the next problem: I believe English IS your native tongue and yet the way in which you posted the comment leaves it open to interpretation by the wet lettuce brigade....................so perhaps you should think about how you word these sort of things before you post?

Now, for the rest, Michael229, it may have appeared disrespectful, if one interpreted the comment in the wrong way, but it is a million miles from being racist. If this place is the laughing stock you suggest, why not skip on back to your favoured site, or perhaps spend your time reading that copy of the Guardian you have tucked under your arm instead. No offence but, if (a) you dislike this site and (b) you interpret this issue as being racist, I suggest you are better off elsewhere
Hipster - I think you too owe Yousef an apology for grabbing hold of your wooden spoon and turning this into something it was never meant to be. If you have the intelligence you appear to have (based on the erudite wording of your posts) I'm sure you will see that it was always a question of poor use of the English language by Yousef = forgivable and poor use of the English language by WeAre = far less so.
Although of course in a fair society, English people are just as entitled to struggle with construction of the English language as anyone else
None of the above of course presupposes that my English is perfect but one thing I know for sure is the racist angle is played here entirely out of context and mainly by people who had nothing to do with the situation but obviously feel their soap boxes needed a day in the sun

Never said it was yousefs fault - was a generalization of whats happening to Britain. And to reiterate I have said I wished we were more like america and australia where to work and live in those countries you have to have the right credentials and offer them some thing - unlike the UK where we just let anyone in.
