Neither do many top class centre backs, it's more in the head and reading the game. We done alright with Hill and Dunne last season as an example, not many got in behind. Just look at the Germans and they played a high line.

I reckon Dawson and Onuoha could develop into a solid partnership

That's because they have one of the worlds best keepers who is very active around his own box, almost like an extra sweeper, and their back four is quicker than ours. You hit the nail on the head Matty because if you play Hill and Dunne we're have no option but to play deep, which means backs to the wall. And in the prem we wont shut them out like vs Derby.

I would have taken Dawson a couple of years ago.

Fair point regarding the German keeper but in general it's not a big problem, as we'll be deep anyway in the majority of games plus LR isn't the biggest pitch length wise and not much room in behind. Dawson isn't really any slower than he was a few years ago. I think he'd be a great signing. I'm still not sure Caulker will choose Palace over us though, don't know why but it doesn't sit right. I guess we'll find out in a few hours as if he has decided to join Palace, I'd have thought it'll be announced sometime on Monday.

Ramires modric etc have not bulked up their still slight players. Ramires would run rings round Carroll too and make him look like a kid. If he could pass the ball forwards you might have a small point on investing some time on him but he can't. Would rather invest the effort in samba who if we could sort him out could be like a new signing then bring in Someone just because they tick the young player box
            Can't believe you rate Ramires wests,think he's carsey.too weak,and easily bossed about..

it's definitely happening but i'd rather not do business with tottenham, they never sell players cheap.

kane & rose aren't good enough for the premiership and will be overpriced, & carol is not the solution to any of our problems. dawson is a mess, gets rated by the media but is a liability.

if these moves come off it just proves that nothing has changed behind the scenes

I long for the day when we can ditch Tottenham as a "business partner"

                      I seriously doubt that........

I think the Ajax lad, Rio and Lascelles. Even if all those happened we'd be short in midfield.

Not about spurs. Simply the quality that is on offer.
