The club keep repeating the phrase....'we learnt our lessons, we are wiser....' A few weeks ago I posted that we may not needs many additions to the squad as players who where on loan are still with us. And they still are! Adel, Remy, Cesar, Granero. I assume that the club wants to get rid of these players, however, if they are still here come the end of August, do you believe that we will add extra cost to the already mountain of depth that we already have? No way. These are the lessons that we have learnt. To some extent, I would not blame the board. I think that the board are taking a chance.....a big chance, to address the big losses of recent years. We have already got rid of some dead wood. Others may be loaned out. Others may be dragged back into the team. With two or three additions and see what could happen! We take a chance, like CP did after all. If we go down again, the board will be sure that the huge debt that accumulated in these past three years will have decreased significantly. It seems that players no longer are joining us because we pay well. Is this what actually wanted a year or two ago.

Can't really complain can we......most fans are worried about the spending and don't want more mercenaries. I will say this though as the opposite side of the coin, if we are too
cheap then we'll get the bottom end of the market....

We can look into the lower divisions and buy the best young talent there is. Will not cost a fortune and will be building on a good foundation, not on sand!

I think we need 7 - 8 players to stay up 4 or 5 for the first ream and 3 or 4 for the squad. If we dont get that type of reinforcement I think though we have a squad of players who will fight ultimately we will struggle massively.

Two years ago we signed FIFTEEN players and still went down. Its not the numbers that count, its how much the new players wants to play for us with all their heart.

I wholeheartedly agree Martin, rather go down fighting than watch the likes of Bosingwa take the urinal

Completely agree with martin. I think a few crafty additions and we can really have a go. We have no idea how hard the last few years financially hurt us. Lets be grateful for where we are and to back the manager and board for getting us back up. Harry Redknapp will be signing players.

I'm not sure there's a lot of talent in the lower divisions these days. All clubs have highly developed scouting networks and I'd guess the top clubs continue to trawl the lower divisions picking up whatever talent there is.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

another reason to be cautious Mellow, yes how much are we in the poo financially? Though have to say there does seem a lack of talent here and judging by that Brazilian team, everywhere

Not learnt the lessons about talking about their targets in the media though or about getting deals done promptly.

Accept the financial issues but need to remember our team last year really lacked pace, consequently sat very deep and didn't have the midfield to get players up to support Austin hence the lack of goals. Austin will not be as effective in the prem so unless we bring some in or change the style we are in for a long old season.

                          That is putting it politely.

Another way is 'We'll be battered all season long'

That's not down to us though, it's down to the players we are trying to sign! The only way we can force them through quickly is to offer eye catching wages, which is the opposite of what we all want!
But let's ignore that and blame Harry and Beard instead
