Its frustrating isn't it greg. Hopefully we have a few irons in the fire and this wont look so bad in a couple of weeks. Just hope rio dont land here at qpr on 80 k and we buckled at caulker on 42 k but we will see.
Yes mate it's very frustrating . It seems to be a trend with the club , why can't they keep quiet and get things done . Even when we are successful it takes an age . We certainly need to sharpen up

Palace also met a buy out clause at £600k for Frazer Campbell who's expected to sign soon.

I know that this transfer not been good. But last season we stated we got Hooper and then he went to Norwich (were he sit world a light not) and we end up with poor crap Austin. I just wondering if Harry plays games we got this player when he does not want them and got a better player on his mind.

          Two things.

Firstly, we don't know for sure that we have missed out yet. And even if we have, it isn't necessarily about us dragging our heels and not getting things finalised quicker. We cannot force people to sign for us simply because some think he is a really good player. We may well have a back up option. For all we know, he may even be the back up option, with a better player we haven't been told about as first choice.

Secondly, if he is so good or likes to take his time ensuring he gets the "right" move, why is it that the only club to show any interest in him a year ago was the one that ended up bottom of the pile and why on earth didn't he realise that was going to be the case?

Ideally, it would have been nice to get all the business done early, but until such time as very simple rules and regs are put in place, which isn't at all hard to do, we are just going to have to accept that getting the right players at the right price isn't always going to be a straightforward matter.

Pulis good steady manager, knows what works and builds his teams accordingly. Win ugly and stays up every year.

Exactly, some on here far too quick to dismiss what Pullis is doing at Palace.

Because being a good footballer and being able to predict the final outcome are not the same thing.

For all your apologist posting, you must surely face the fact that there is room for concern re our record in the market place. That means all aspects, all business done under TF.

I respect the fact that he has learned. But there comes a point when you have do the cost benefit equation re staying up - like I said, until the 90th minute he must have had the contingency in his head: another year in the champ, a new manager, a new start, young players. The rebuild. Maybe that will still happen but a year later. And maybe he'd take that.

The alternative means buying now, not at the 11th hour - we've been there before with catastrophic results. Sometimes the buyer has to force the pace, and you'd be more likely to do that if you were committed to the financial implications of staying in the EPL. Money wisely invested now could ensure that stay.

I still get the impression that our acquisitions team do not always sing from the same hymn sheet.

farking joke is the beard, this is the third straight transfer window in a row where we seem to be struggling to sign players.

the bloke has no charisma or no ability in putting across our so called ambition.

He looks like a farking bank manager, no wonder we find it hard to sign players.

things only seem to get done when tony f directly gets involved like with remy and samba.

leaving phil to do the job is clearly not working.

but dont worry, harry will get his crippled 37 yo target next week while all the best prospects join the likes of hull, palace, westspam etc etc.

after rio come on down peter crouch, parker, hangeland,

                              • Has this been reported anywhere other than the Mirror?

Could this be a ploy to get us to offer a better deal?
