I'd disagree. I know we have messed up last couple of years but with our owners we should be looking the better prospect..New training facilities - 35 k stadium in the pipeline, finances to push the club on, west London. We can't have the mentality palace are a bigger club or better place to be or we are bang in trouble. If we want.to stay up we have to be. Eating the likes of.palace to our top targets.

But mate, ever since all that rubbish about the "four year plan" there has been a total disconnect between the ambition, plans, future, big talk etc and the reality at our club. Yes we have spent big money but mainly wasted it on short term fixes that haven't worked. Clubs like Palace, Hull, Swansea, West Ham and Southampton have avoided silly talk about Champions League etc and have instead quietly looked to improve year on year. You sign for Pullis, you might not be part of an attractive team, but you know you are likely to remain in the Prem. What will you get at Rangers? If past form is anything to go by, lots of big talk, a big circus signing, a big crisis, a manager who isn't any good in a relegation scrap who could well be sacked round about Christmas, a new manager coming in and changing half the team and then probably followed by relegation. I'm not saying all this will happen and boy do I hope it doesn't - just that if it does, would any of us really be that surprised? If you were a player with no loyalty either way, it makes sense to choose Palace over us imo.

Hope we know where he is going really soon,as been dragging on far to long. If he doesn't come to us then that's fine as quite clear he is only chasing the £,but tbh who wouldn't at his age!! Time for our scouts to start earning their wages as surely there must be some very good centre halfs which fit into our criteria playing in the likes of France,Germany league's etc.

We apparently competed for a player with a club of effectively equal standing (and arguably a more stable position currently) and he chose the other one.

Fair enough. We have moaned and moaned about our transfer and contract policies over the last couple of years, I'm glad that there appears to be some evidence that we're not going to go exclusively down that route anymore.

It will be frustrating, and probably more so because of the media and Harry's inability to say 'no comment', but as long as we aren't repeating our previous mistakes, I feel a bit more relaxed about the future of the club long-term.

hands up I have thrown the toys out of the pram this morning and had a right old moan worst than my 4 year old little girl - tbf just hard to swallow that its palace that have beaten us to this signature. I seriously dont expect to compete with the likes of spurs, everton, liverpool and even southampton but I do without being bias think we are a better than palace and going forward with our ambitions I still believe we will be a prem club long term. I dont want to see money spunked for the sake of it any more but I do feel there are times when you can above and beyond for certain players, not to silly levels but enough to compete with palace.
I also believe Caulker is a exceptional talent and I know others don't on here and I respect that, just think he would of been a hell of a coup and if our fans had been given the chance to see him live week in week out rather than make assumption because he was part of a releagated team I think alot would of quickly agreed what a good player he is and a snip at 8 mill.
Im not worried we havent signed anyone yet or panicking over that I think there still a couple of weeks before we have to worry about that, but I am starting to worry a little about how we approach these deals and who is selling the club to the players. We are not the biggest club in the world but if we want to grow this club like the owners do we have to match the ambitions of palace, west brom, leicester, burnley ect or we might as well wave the white flag.

I think Harry does it on purpose? He wants Rio shoots his gob off so others are alerted to our targets done it many times before, backs T.F. Into a corner so he has to give in when all the others are snapped up. Why we just can't say anything until deals are done, like many other clubs we'll end up desperate again overages overpaid players, all because H.R. Doesn't like youth?

Hoillet before he signed was nailed on for us then was going to Germany then he signed for us so you never know. If we offered him the same deal or even more money and he turned us down then fair play its embarrassing but if he is getting a better deal from them then its a no brainer in my book he's not a QPR fan so you go where the best deal is simple

Was just thinking that myself - probably clutching at straws etc but 1 reporter saying it with no quotes. Could be a ploy to get caulker a better deal with us or to get southampton or Liverpool to come in at the 11th hour

Agreed Maidstone. Just can't get my head around this if true bitterly disappointed if does go there but like some have said gotta go again and hope we pull something better off. Had my moan so fingers crossed start getting some quality through the door
