yep but as I replied earlier, they have pullis.

Shame, a real shame!..... Hill, Dunne and Rio (possibly) in the centre then. Really hope we can get hold of a young CB because those 3 wont make it through a premiership season!!

      Still plenty of time though!!!

Looks like Lascalles (very inexperienced) or Dawson (getting on). Vlaar will be too expensive if we won't pay £42,000.

Palace will suffer 2nd season syndrome and Caulker can help them in the championship

If I had to choose I'd go with Lascelles. IMO if we sign Rio its almost a must that we also sign a younger CB too... plus id imagine the price would be right as well.

I think that is a real possibility Dave. Decent manager in Pulis but that don't make them bullet proof

I would go Dawson as don't think we can really first season back with a young centre back who has played less then 40 professional games both would be great

Yeah I kind of agree but having Hill, Dunne, Rio and Dawson at the age they're at is always going to be a bit of a risk injury wise.

But I'd also like to see us build for the future Ned + Lascelles could be really exciting with Hill, Dunne and Rio helping Lascelles find his feet.

                  Is Caulker's move actually done??

I completely agree with you but the fact is that one way or another, we seem to struggle when business gets down to the nitty gritty. Don't count on anything. Better than early in TF's reign when it was complete chaos, but we were hopelessly equipped for promotion this year.

Which raises an interesting question: what is our budget for making a decent fist of staying up?

Or maybe the Lascelles thing is a done deal and Caulker was surplus at that money...... but I wouldn't count on that.

Forest have already reportedly turned down £4m for Lascalles so he isn't going to come cheap either.

Would be interesting to know what our budget is and how tight TF is pulling on those reins... but if Remy and Adel stay that's 2 positions where money would be saved and now possibly spent elsewhere?

As said on the other thread it's a joke if true and we lost out to palace. No ambition to sign a top young player but I bet we will pay Rio more than 42k a week. Lose out to loverpool, Everton spurs and even Southampton but to lose a player of.caulkers calibre to palace is very worrying in deed.
Something ain't right behind the scenes I think.

sure, but for a long while it has been obvious that at some point we were going to have to invest in a quality CB. Promotion has made this requirement a priority - if we're serious about trying to stay up. Rio as a sole CB investment does not fit the bill. There is no cheap fix.

Fair play by Forest as he is quality. I'd get him in - £6m I reckon would do it.

This post illustrates why it's daft to keep using the word "quality" when referring to players. You don't tell us what kind of "quality" he is. He's certainly not prem quality because he's never played there, nor has he played in the top division in any of Europe's major leagues. He is best described as champs quality with prem potential, nothing more.
Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.
