Not all contracts end on 30 June. Not sure when Rio left, but it was announced everywhere on 12 May. Also if there is a release clause when a team is relegated, I assume the player can be transferred at any time.

i'm no expert but i think virtually all contracts do run until 30 june. it was announced that rio wasn't going to be offered a new contract on 12 may, but i'm fairly sure he still picked up his wages until 30 june when his existing one ran to (i doubt he signed just until mid-may). yes contracts can end up early, if they're terminated, like anelka's was, or a player and club reach some agreement, but usually they run until the day before the window opens.

Why no new signings been announced all you contact experts no jack all, wait till pre season starts and them they
will rock up,TF not being mugged some are on contracts with current clubs and not free as of June 30 and still being paid by them,why should we pay them when we don't need to. They on our payroll when they start training and not before.

Clubs have been announcing deals since may stating player will join etc etc on July 1st... So why can't we do that if they have signed??? Sign the paper which states contract starts July whenever... We're just slow at doing deals end of, not buying the wages thing either. Poor shout

Fully expect players in by next week as well. Pre season starts an would imagine Harry wanted players in early so can get squad together. You said deals were done so wait till pre season starts which is tomorrow so were wait and see???

Jesus mate you have been mugged of your by your so called source... As someones said contracts normally run until june 30th unless terminated. Lets say we sign rio. His deal with utd means he is still paid until june 30th. If he signs for us we will pay him from the moment he signs that deal. If he sign july th for example he'll effectively be paid 3 weeks wages. If he had signed a pre contract with us he would of been paid straight away.

So I presume if we have signed caulker but not announced it he will be paid from the day he signed that contract. He certainly would not of been told oh by the way we aint paying you until training staerts or after we announce it becuase we need to save wages, how do you think that would look?

Been told by someone who is every close to people in and around the club, a few deals have been agreed and the contracts won't start till players start pre-season, they didn't want to pay people for 5 or 6 weeks when they would be on holidays etc. figures mentioned that by doing this its saved around 1.5 million on wages and contracts will have start dates of when they actually start working for it, fair play why should they pay people for doing nothing. So basically don't panic expect arrivals from next week but no names were given.

Hear what you say but TF is calling the shots not the agents, our terms now take it or leave it, he won't throw cash away.
If he saves 1.5 on wages good luck to him he not being taken for a ride, lesson learnt and all that contracts will end on June 30 once signed but no paying people to they start going forward is different matter when on contracts etc like Faurlin etc.

Perhaps that bit of info was leaked by the clubfor someone to post on here, as a cover story for why no signings have been made, unlike clubs like Chelsea; Man U; Liverpool; Hull; WBA; Burnley; Leicester; West Ham etc.

It would be good if 3, 4 or 5 of the new signings could participate in pre season fixtures rather than wait until the season kicks off and complaining that they need time to gel (as they did 2 seasons ago).

I've been told on good authority that we will sign between 1-10 players over the coming weeks. I haven't been told who they are but he said they're all men aged between 20-40 and have played some football before at a good level. Most of them are right footed but can kick it quite far with their left foot as well. Harry is said to be over the moon and that they're all triffic lads made of the right stuff.

Do the maths. To save 1.5 mill over a month. That would be equivalent of to signing 8 players at approx 46k a week. Seems ridiculous to spend that kind of money again.
