Yeah, im well aware of that, but prior to a handful of sub appearances this season, he's been woeful. Fair play to him the way he's been this year, and it may simply be a case of he was finally given time to have his op and recover, which he wasnt allwed previously

I think the Club are waiting to see if anybody is actually interested in Cesar. We have two goalkeepers, but only one is going to play regularly. Green's contract has finished and Cesar's is set to run another two years. The Club does not wish to continue paying for two potentially no 1 goalkeepers.

All goalkeepers have bad games. Look at Green's against Swansea in his first match which is why the panic and we got Cesar in.

Normally Green would probably leave and Cesar would come in as the first goalkeeper. This is from the business point of view. Cesar doesn't have to leave so we are probably stuck with him, and we are not obliged to keep Green.

This is the problem which is hardly a crisis of goalkeepers.

The solution to me seems simple. We keep either Green or Cesar. Since Green is out of contract, we will probably keep Cesar. We bring in a young goalkeeper from a lower division with potential, who can play if the main goalkeeper is injured and can be trained to be our next number one goalkeeper.

And who else? Surely you don't want Murphy as backup in the PL !!?

why not, he has one year left on his contract. its not as if he will play omre than 5 games is it.

if our main keeper gets injured we will be allowed to sign an emergancy loan during the season

Not necessarily if you have other professional keepers on your books but not in the squad

We got caught out last time in the prem when all keepers got injured and prem said play the 17 year old kid as he was contracted

fair enough ACTS, if people dont rate murphy then i would suggest tyton, polish keeper who is contracted to psv. very good keeper from what i have seen of him.

If Green do leave, then we have to keep Cesar.......on some 90k a week! God business eh. What about the team spirit and the players that get us up bla bla bla? We have already released quite a lot of players, most of them on loans, however some where important to our cause. Green was one of them. Yet, no new players joining in the meantime!

And if Green don't want to sign should we take him hostage???? if he wont sign on terms that are agreeable with the club then like with other players its time to say thanks and all the best.

I would rather keep Green and get shot of Cesar but if Green is unaffordable to us then im more then happy with Cesar who we have been told is not on 90k and who were going to have to pay anyway unless someone takes him off our hands. We cant always get what we want

we have cesar in goal we'll get relegated.....teams will know his weakness's he will parry shots into play he can't deal with crosses and he's rooted to his line

Did he not have these weaknesses when he was winning champions leagues, Serie and many other trophies??

Hes not as good as some make out but he is equally not as bad. We would have as much chance of going down with him in goal as we would with Green or any other keeper who is going to be in goal with a side who is going to be bottom end of the table

Just as some have been blinded by Adel's wonder season in the championship think some have become star struck by Greens efforts last season (again in the Championship) and forgot some of his glaring errors last time in the top flight at home to WBA just one example

As said before given choice would have Green as number one but if he don't want to sign taking a wage drop ta da Cesar is equally capable of doing the job Green would

Thank God we have one who talks sense.
Cesar has had his best days 5-6 years ago and he is not a PL standard goalkeeper any more.

Should add on Cesar being rooted to his line Green against WBA was not only rooted to his line he voluntarily decided to retreat behind it
