You might be able to argue that he could have done a little bit better in some cases but the bottom line is that the defence in front of him was about as useful as Captain Hook at a gynaecologists convention....

I would blame for the first, he should have been at least charging towards the scorer not just glued to his line, we will never get rid of him now, might as well tear up his contract if we are not going to play him.
        Kept the faith!

Which part of that statement amuses you? He should never been on his line like that! The German, Howard, Hart or the Mexican would have been charging at him in a star shape narrowing the angle!

He could have done better with the 2nd goal and Klose's 1st shot and perhaps been better at organising his defenders for the corner (1st goal), but other than that, I think the defence and midfield were diabolical and Cesar must have felt as if he was back playing for QPR behind Ferdinand, Traore Fabio, Mbia, Granero and Park etc.

What about the 6 Brazilian defenders in and around the 6 yard area (7 if you count the one on the line) marking 4 germans? Keepers should command their area, yes but the ball was just outside the 6 yard area and there were a number of defenders between Cesar and Muller who should have got there first.

Not disputing that, or saying he could/would have saved it, I said he was stuck to his line, he could have made it more difficult for the scorer, that ball travelled from a corner, right across the box and he was still on his line! Bottom line is, I will never forgive him for Villa away!

Ah the crux of it... Nothing really to do with his World Cup performance as such but one for us about a year ago...

On both occasions he was glued to his line
