I think this will lead to a revolution in Brazil and the players will have to flee the country. Would be a good opportunity to pick some of them up for a pittance. Green could use a good backup goalkeeper for instance.
Banning people is no longer my hobby,
but take a look at my photo blog:

Will the same thing occur in Russia in 2018? if Russia loses heavily like that? or is it a relatively safe country?

      jeez

FIFA must carefully select their world cup host candidates.

the likes of Australia would do million times better than Brazil!

        Russia is perfectly safe.

The people who live there are arrogant and rude toss bags (in my experience) but in terms of a safe and secure environment, absolutely fine. Infrastructure works (roads are heavily congested but they are installing "Olympic" style traffic lanes, railways & metros are ace and cheap), stadiums are either already in place or in the final stages of redevelopment. The police and military will have the place on lock down under Putin's orders. Much to be said for benevolent dictatorship

Will possibly be the most corrupt tournament in terms of commercial deals, ticketing, hospitality and associated building works but will be absolutely fine for the players, officials and fans. Just hope they limit the tournament to European Russia, rather than Asian Russia. Trips out to Vladivostock (nearer Tokyo than it is Moscow) would be a monumental pain.

There is some hooliganism (Lokomotiv Moscow and Zenit mainly) some political, some racist, some based on inter city rivalries - that can get out of hand. Random hooligan groups may do some chasing of German, English, Italian and Dutch fans (as they do in CL & EL games) but will be isolated, due to the strict visa requirments on visitors and tourists and no general population uprisings.

They are holding a major international football tournament in Russia??? Didn't they have like the European Cup thing in Ukraine just a couple of years ago which is next door? Why not try somewhere else, like Greenland?

OK Iceland then, but no running in the aisles.
