Some wont accpet that because they have been slagging harry off weeks before we even new who he was going after and believe all the paper talk.
seems to me you are interpreting transfer rumours for the benefit of your argument. Nothing is official until the player is standing on the loftus road turf with a blue and white hooped shirt in hand. The rest is mere speculation. And to believe what managers, chairmen, players etc say in the media in regards to potential transfers is extremely naive.

I think Harry knows 2 of his best signings (Austin & Phillips) are the right sort. Young, hungry and a realistic wage. Yes they cost £8-£9m for the pair but if you get quality, a sell on value and massive savings on weekly wages it's a no brainer

Early days and of course we don't know who will be a success if signed, but have been impressed with the sort of targets we have been after. My only disappointment so far has been that we haven't (apparently) done more to get Ince as he is the kind of dynamic young midfielder we are crying out for. But Caulker and Rio would be a brilliant mix of experience and youth imo, and from what little we know about sigorson (spelling?) he has the ideal age, style and record to perform in England. Much prefer we are patient enough to get it right this time.

Samba? And who would of thought that. We were all crying out for that one.

Pretty much every single player he's signed have done a job for us & he's hardly spent a penny in reality.
Now now Jimmy no need for that sensible talk!!

I was really critical of TF re Hughes - early doors it was obvious things were out of control. But the man has clearly learned. Funnily enough I think the experience of watching us labour our way to promotion brought home to him our weaknesses. He is not interested in bringing in older players in the twilight of their careers. There may be an exception, but TF gets it.

Harry gets a lot of slating for transfer dealings & he likes to 'splash the cash' so would be nice for someone to list his failures transfer wise since he became manager.

I wouldn't go overboard. The tentative signs are good in this window but even last season he acquired some real cack (admittedly a lot of it on loan, but nothing comes cheap, even in the Championship). Think he could have worked harder last summer to bring in better long term prospects than O'Neil, Hughes and Henry for instance, then some of the loans like Doyle, Maiga, Dellatore, the Columbian who never played, etc. Still, happy to move forward and hope he brings in the six/ seven players we will now need to stay up.

Stains. Last season was all about going up. Any which way. By hook or by crook & the objective was achieved.

Jimmy if you've got time to provide a list of ALL the business he has presided over at QPR, I'm happy to hold up my hand if I can't find a few turkeys.

My brain is trying to think of flops & Samba aside I'm struggling.

As I said all signings done a relatively good job in one way or another from what I can think of.

Agree no one can fault the result but its ground-hog day isn't it? We went up the first time with a squad that was way short of what was needed to stay up and we went up this year in exactly the same state. Major re-building needed. There are decent, youngish players out there in the Champ who have potential to step up (several other clubs have shown that) but Harry did the lazy thing and got lots of dead-beats for the short term. We should - imo - have been going after the Brysons and Lassalles last seaon. My hope this transfer window is that for the first time in years the club is finally looking LONG TERM and will sign players like Caulker and Sighorsson who cd potentially stay with us for several years so we aren't looking for an entirely new team every window.

then there is our old old old friend peter crouch.

lets wait till the window closes to fully judge the tw at that is redcrapp
Lol i expected that from you as you been one of the main culprits bashing harrys signings and making presumptions based on paper rumours. Fact is fella we have made bids for four players all mid 20's and younger which already proves we aint just going for over 30's. The only one that we have gone in for over 30 is rio. Whether we get them four or not, this proves your theory wrong, harry is showing he wants youth, whether we get those deals over the line or not is more complicated.

Surely the last few days you have to be happy with the people we have gone in for or at least that the theory we are only after xperienced pros at the end of their careers has been squashed.
There are no official links to any of lampard, defoe, or crouch what so ever, your holding on to those rumours to justify the nonsense that was spouted about harry a few weeks back and since then.

The thing is Stains not only was last season purely about promotion but we was also a championship club. That makes a big difference to signings. Like you said the initial signs are good so let's just wait and see what happens.... I'd be very very very surprised if we end up with a load of ageing has beens!!

Ridiculous argument imo, you wont find a manager in the world who hasnt signed a few flops.
