I doubt theres a football club in the world that has zero debt mate. Saying that, I agree we will probably have to pay a couple of million more than you did to secure Hooper's services. I can't see him wanting to stay in the Championship, after all, thats the reason he signed for you guys and not us in the first place.

Can see where you're coming from regarding wanting a higher fee but if the clubs entered negotiations regarding Hooper then how could NFC justify his value going up by 2-3m in one season where he did just about what was expected of him?

There's also the factor of Hooper probably not wanting to play at Championship level, as others have pointed out. Will he try and force a move? Not sure if he is that sort of character...

Lets get back to Hooper because you really need to be put right. Are you saying he is worth 2 charlie Austins? Come on mate calm down, if you get anything over 5 Million then you have been v fortune. The guy will want premier league football but I am still not convinced he is good enough and they are the facts wizz. Maybe that extra finger has added on an extra million so you maybe forgiven if that is the case.

Hooper was brought for 5 mill and has a stat of 1 goal in 3 games in the prem and is english so wanting 8 mill is more than fair imo. Would argue a rate of 1 in 3 in the prem in a poor norwich side last year is pretty good to and to me says hes more than capable of holding his own in the prem.

Agreed, I think Wiz is underestimating the how much of a factor player power can be. Hooper and his agent will certainly be trying to force a move, he didn't want to play in the Championship last season, I doubt very much that has changed.

Hooper has hardly done anything to enhance his reputation in the last 12 months, a handful of goals in a Premiership season has got to leave the jury still out on whether he is genuinely Premiership quality. Personally I like him and think at the right club he will get goals, even in the top divisions. All of that said, I wouldn't pay a penny more than the 5m that Norwich paid for him in the Summer!

Fair points fella, but Austin scored in the Chumps, he's untested at Premier level yet.

And believe me our accounts do show zero debt, a fact we're rightly proud of up here.

And as for us going up, retaining Hoops would give us a massive boost so its watch this space I guess.

Lies damned lies and statistics?!!!

8 goals in all competitions from 23 starts (plus 11 substitute appearances). 6 league goals from 22 starts (plus 10 substitute appearances).

However you badge it up, it ain't a great return for a Centre Forward in my opinion!

I personally would pay the extra and go for Rhodes, I rate Hooper and believe with the right service he would score but he made his bed!!!
