Here's a question!

If Ale Faurlin didn't get injured in our first season back, do you think he'd have received an Argentinia cap.

Personally, I think yes! Before that injury he was bossing the Prem, would've been a certain call up I think.

I'm not saying he'd be in this World Cup squad but I genuinely think he'd have got an international cap and could've gone on to a better Prem side.

Thoughts?

Good question, wondered the same. Cd see him as fringe player. Has/ had all the attributes bar pace, but as Ray Wilkins said, "I couldn't run even when I was young". If you are good on the ball you don't always need bundles of pace. TC was another one (not saying btw that Faurlin is anywhere near as good as those two).

I agree, pace isn't everything. I think his vision and passing is quality, a definite miss this season after his injury. I'm just hoping he can do well again this season, not many people fully recover from those kinds of knee injury!

Indeed. Our midfield often looked poor in the Champ , it will be way out of its depth in the Prem unless we buy a really gd CM. As things stand Faurlin and Barton our only options in the middle.

Well I know for a fact that he has been scouted by 2 prem clubs, even before we were promoted first time round, one of them being Bolton who were steady ish prem at the time
