Simpson & Vine

Just seen the highlights on QPR world and I have a sneaky feeling Vine (brains) and Simpson (pace and finishing) are going to have a field day a bit like Vine & Pat did last season. I know it was only 9 minutes but it looked like Watson and Rowland's play as one (I didn't think this would not happen as they booth want to be the daddy) and ran the show in the middle and Buzz and Routledge done what they do best.

Was the defence tested at all, as they looked like they snuffed everything out, apart form the odd long range effort ?

This time though its going to me who is negative. pete was suggesting after one match we are ok up front but vine - fine player though he is - can't score goals. plus there are going to be injuries. also, simpson is v young - what if he can't sustain this for more than one match. i was as happy as anyone with the win, but let us not think all our problems have gone away or it i worry what the atmosphere will be like on here if we can't win on sat....

Stainrod - just saying it as I see it and to be fair, there has been nothing positive in the previous games has there, but I guess if you play the better players, in the positions that suit them, instead of having them on the bench, anything can happen.

agree paul - my frustration is that we are so close to having a cracking team. ive never been one of the gianni bashers, think he has brought some unbelieveably skillful players to the bush at often bargain prices. but its like when you are helping your nippers with a jigsaw - after hours of work the final one or two pieces are lost, presumably at the back of the sofa (or in this case in flavio's wallet...). if they are happy with staying in the championship they've spent more than necessary, if they are hell bent on promotion they havent spent quite enough. makes no sense...

Must say, vine seems to be getting his c.ockiness back on the pitch again. That is a good sign
