DO we all seriously think that other clubs suddenly sit up and look at players just because HR mentions "He's a top boy..." etc...

"Oh look QPR's Harry are after Joe Blogs, he must be good quick get in there..."

Aren't we underestimating the skills of other managers/scouts in the Prem?? Can anyone really believe the likes of Rodgers wasn't in the know of Caulker for eg. until HR opened his wobbly mouth?

Lets not slate.... AGAIN... 4 days into the transfer window.

Not in that context obviously, however, making statements like "we've agreed a fee" or similar in relation to any player can't do any favours so whould be kept to himself. What if another club was remotely interested in a player but didnt think the club would sell so dont bother enquiring.... then Harry blurts out a fee's been agreed and it becomes common knowledge the club would be prepared to sell.

That's just one example.

I didn't say anything about the Hooper deal. I said he shouts his mouth off too much in general. Others suggested that was a stroke of Harry genius and I honestly don't think he's that smart. By his own admission he can barely write ffs.

Of course, but i'm just saying imo, i really dont think it's the case. I just think he loves the attention of the press as in his interest to be a media favourite, so he oftern gives them what they want, ie bits of info.

Just another reason to have a go at Harry. Poor guy can't do right. We don't have Mark Hughes to screw us over. Harry has got us promoted and lets leave Harry to do what he does best (and if that's him running his gob off) and it works that's fine for me. Lets get behind him and enjoy the premier league.

He can do some things right, but also does some things wrong. If people want to discuss his negative points why shouldnt they, much like you want to highlight he got us promoted, regardless of how lucky it was in the end and anything but convincing given the squad and resources afforded to him.

Look, this forum is for opinions and they will be different. I do not expect everyone to agree with my opinion but I do expect common courtesy. I have never slagged off a fellow supporters opinion, I may not agree, I may argue against but never **** them or their opinion off

I stand by my OP in that you never see any other premiership manager talk about an individual before the deal is done. Could you imagine Mattinez, wenger, Rodgers etc etc saying -"we've agreed terms with the club and it's now up to the boy"

If you can think of an example let me know ......

The vast majority of managers will wait until the deal is done

I get the point about all and sundry knowing that caulker is available for a fixed price but why can't we do our business quietly

For the record this is not a pop at Harry as a manager - he did a great job last season and I like him but I just wish he would keep his gob shut because if another club now comes in for caulker and he signs for them I won't be alone in venting my frustrations at Harry's gob!

IMO next 7 days will determine a lot in terms of next season - we need to bring at least 3 players in so that they can mould in. Last minute dot com won't work in the premiership

The player played us & his agent played us for a better deal. That's football.

Bit unfair on Redknapp really , Cardiff announced that they had excepted a bid from qpr , and all HR said was the usual, that a fee had been agreed and it was up to the player to decide, nothing wrong with that, when asked if he was confident of Caulker coming he said yes, but really what's he suppose to say, no we haven't got a chance in signing him, or i think Liverpool or Palace may pip us to him, he has to stay confident or what's the point in bidding for players.
