Month away from the family in Brazil is a long time could have easily come back to spend the week with them before heading back to Brazil. Sure I saw pic of him on tube with his kids having been Central London with them

Harry is talking about Caulker with that comment.

Correct regarding Rio, but as I've said. Why come over for talks? Agents job.

So Rio was on the tube? I haven't been seeing things then!

Maybe you're right, not sure I believe that though but maybe.

by the way... no one picked up on this on sunday:

rio: "As I wrote a few weeks ago, I’ll be playing on next season at a new club. But I remain uncertain where that will be. I would have liked it wrapped up last week but these things are never as simple as they seem. New opportunities have presented themselves and it’s only right that I give everything proper consideration."

This is what you posted Matty.

Unfortunately mate, these things are usually a lot more drawn out than any of us would like. All we are saying to you is that, without knowing the details, it is a bit much blaming Phil Beard for any delay. Could be TF, Rio, Harry or his agent causing the problem.

Once the situation has been resolved one way or the other and the facts are out, (assuming they ever are), then we might be in a position to make a reasoned judgement.

Personally, my money would be on a journalist being short of something to write.

I think TF is not keen on signing Rio, but has given Harry the go-ahead if the price is right. I don't think he feels that 80,000 a week is reasonable. Also as far as we know no other teams have come in for him. If Rio is serious, he should expect to get no more than 40,000 a week. Being in London he could supplement this by working as a pundit for the BBC which he obviously enjoyed doing.

The article in the Telegraph (in another thread) says Rio is still in Brazil, so he probably has to pass a medical before any final decision can be made.

Beard doesn't draw up contracts. They hire in lawyers to do that. Beard tells them numbers.

The bbc is manchester where he will be leaving so that kills that theory young melanie
I played sunday league football today.

Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.

I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.

We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

I don't think he has a free negotiating hand. I think he's a mouthpiece for the guv'nor (TF), basically a well paid negotiator working from a brief. If there's an agreement in principal, then m'learned friends get involved to thrash the nitty gritty.

I don't think TF will ever again allow anyone complete freedom in negotiations, and I think he will have the final say. Quite right too.

I agree Rio shouldn't be on such a high wage but once again, that all comes down to one fool, Beard!
Before you call anyone a fool, look at what you wrote. If Rio isn't the same as half of Hughes's signings, then he must be the same as the other half .....

You, like most of the rest of us, have no idea of negotiations.

I suspect rigg done the deals that disastrous season set the price and wages and beard or TF signed it off. Rigg appeared the man in all the quotes when signing players when they joined and even went on call in live to announce just signed a player

So, as a QPR fan, you waited a week before you said anything?

I think the board are right to be involved in transfers, so I understand that the sticking point with Rio is that Harry want him,and Tony doesn't want to pay him more than £50K a week? I make T.F right there, we don't need to make the same mistakes again. Also Tony worried that Rio has an injury that may keep him out too much, didn't play many games last season due to this injury,
