Watch out for us in 2018 ;)

Token QPR remark: Julian Green would be a mighty fine young lad
Yeah we almost did it. I for 1 have been negative on our boys since the draw (while still supporting the team mind you). But its actually shocked me how much interest we've mustered behind the team. I live in New York and have watched USA games in Manhattan as well as outer boroughs. the support is immense. Even at a hipster bar in a majority black neighborhood in Brooklyn, the place was rammed for the USA Portugal game. African American guys in doo rags and flatbrim hats were actually yelling at real full time football enthusiasts to get out of the way of the TV.
Granted, yes, some of you are correct that we are not there yet, and yes majority of american fans are daft when it comes to football knowledge. In fact, I was at a bar for USA Belgium and the 1s wearing the shirt were the ones texting, tweeting, and taking selfies when the game was going on. Was doing my head in! But everywhere I turn, football is taking over.

If you are ever in the company of a group of American men (sometimes women join in), it will not be long before they start talking about baseball (during the season which lasts most of the year) or American football between October and February. To a lesser degree basketball is discussed, but apart from the World Cup, nobody ever discusses football. The Alex Rodriguez affair was the main news on tv.
you make some good points, but I'd also say that orlando and FL are a lot different in sports fandom than other parts of the US. With how many plastic fans have likely started supporting LeBron and the Miami Heat down in Florida, im surprised you dont say that american football and basketball are the top sports.
And with how terrible FL baseball teams are, I would presume that the amount of american football fans to baseball fans is 4:1 in FL. Where it might be 2:1 in places like Boston, St. Louis & Chicago
