English football faces a bleak future with the lack of talent (or should that be "quality"?) available. I'm sorry to say, and as a proud Englishman, I'm ashamed of our national team.
PS. To Americans, it's pronounced football, NOT sucker!Supporting QPR isn't just about a football team. It's about roots and identity.

Westie calm down son, lets not make out the USA are world beaters all of a sudden.
Belgium were all over them and apart from some poor finishing they should of stuffed them.
To say they would beat England is a little far fetched. We clearly under performed but against italy we showed more than what the US of A did in the whole comp.
Can't stand them and pleased they are out. They defended extremely well so credit there but their finishing was woeful, if dempsey doesn't score a wonder goal then they will never score enough game and that is where they're similar to england.I played sunday league football today.
Clearly I was the best player on the pitch.
I scored 5 and made 7 last ditch tackles.
We lost 5-0 but the rest of my team were sh it!

USA may not have the skill levels of some other teams but what they do have is courage, hunger, desire, attitude, togetherness and pride. In time, their skills will improve and long term they'll be a threat on the world stage. They showed more of those qualities than England did. I'd back them to further than us in future world cups

USA will eventually become a major force in world football. its the fastest growing sport out there now and for the forst time just overtaken baseball in participation. Have a lot of friends who work out there coaching and also went to visit them in new york a couple of years ago and the set up and training is miles in front of ours. The facilities and set up put us to shame.
They sort out their league system and its also going to be a more attractive place for players to play. You don't see many english players playing abroad but i honestly think america could be the one place we see brit players wanting to move to in the future.

Julian Green is defiantly a great future prospect.
I saw a program on The USA team prior to the start of The WC & Klinsman wined & dined this kid to insure he would play for The U.S. & not Germany.
He has scored 15 goals for Bayern Munich in 23 appearances & played for Germany at under 16, 17 & 19s.
WeAre I am shocked at your response, you normally have a good football brain, but I'm afraid that this time, you have allowed personal feelings to get in the way of facts.Minds Are Like Parachutes.

most of the US team are Championship standard at best. What they've got in abundance is guts, determination, pride and a decent coach. Makes are early exit even more annoying, what we've got is gutless overpaid players who brick themselves every time they are on the ballI must away now, I can no longer tarry

They lost yesterday in the World Cup (some thought they were actually going to win), and now it is all forgotten until the next world cup in 2016.
I agree the standard still needs to get better but its continuing to get better as is its following. As I said earlier its now a fact that its overtaken baseball as a participitation sport.

It is North America's fastest growing sport; with a population in excess of 300m, there is always going to be alot of Americans who have zero knowledge or interest.
As Maidstone has stated, the infrastructure being put in place is amazing; the fact that MLS is now starting to compete for players like Defoe, means they have come a long way since Beckham's LA days.
Forget the skill-set, it was the passion & determination of The U.S. team that has impressed me the most at this WC.Minds Are Like Parachutes.
